How many of you reply to the replies you get on threads?

How often do you write a reply that can be replied to?

This is what happens on social media all the time. Is that the approach on here?

Sort:

I reply to most of the replies I receive. At least those that seem to warrant a reply.

Probably about half of my replies are ones I would expect a reply in return.

At least those that seem to warrant a reply.

Yeah. This is a challenge. So many provide a reply that cannot be replied to. Overall, pretty worthless.

An example: agreed.

While it might be applicable and valid in some cases, if that is all one is doing, it doesnt amount to much.

I call that shit "a conversation stopper". Two word, three word replies that require no further interaction. Some years back, I even wrote an article about how to start and continue meaningful conversations on the blockchain. A lot of frens need to learn that.

Questions are a great way to start a conversation.

But you are right, really a shit way to kill any engagement.

People need to jump in the conversation of others like they do on X.

How many do that?

I feel sad that the level of threads and engagement under them is really low, but I we'll keep on trying. This place needs a bunch of active users that are here to stay. I'll keep on bringing new friends and motivating them not to leave.

Drop some topics of conversation in here. It is sort of a repository for engagement/conversations.

I almost also want to say "agreed", but let me leave it at this.

Let me add this. A reply should initiate a conversation and as such, a plain "agreed" as you stated isn't the way to go. It is as good as no response.

Well, once in a while, it is not bad to end a convo with an agreed.

But if this is one's primary means of interaction, there is a problem.

Yes, of course.

Indeed there is. It is more of an issue of not putting enough thought into the response and just saying something that comes easily.

Yeah. They think that is how to get the numbers up. They need to understand their engagement will go up exponentially if they simply interact like a conversation.

It is easy to have 5-10 back and forths then.

Do that 10 times a day and we have something.

Exactly. Being natural and open to conversation is the way to go. Not just the simple default responses. They'll get to even connect better that way.

Yeap. I am new to Hive though, but I am being mentored. When he said engage not just reply something I gave it more thought and I try to put a part of me out there when sending a reply.

I totally agree. 💯

Agreed. haha

Definitely needs to be balance between a well thought out reply and just a well placed gif or few words.

Yeah. Not that the latter isnt valid. It can be. A good way to highlight things and add a bit of levity.

replies over reply are all replies. We need to keep it going. At least we are learning through each other.

Sharing of information is crucial too. That is where engagement can increase, people asking question and commenting on the information shared.

As for the replies, absolutely, how many back and forth that go on for 10 or more threads do we see on here?

Not too many.

I reply as long as the conversation is an open-ended.

exactly my point, let the conversation going. I often ask a question or just keep it natural for every conversation that I have.

Yeah. We see it happening on X. Of course, like most places, a tweet might get a number of comments but the original tweetster doesnt reply.

That is where threads needs a core group that changes that.

I don't understand why some users doesn't reply. If I commented to someone and I do not get a reply even my comment is an open-ended, I find it boring to talk to them.

I don't want to do the same thing on my brand.

Yeah. They are nothing but selfish.

How many are dedicated to make threads a great place?

This is a question to start posing.

Well, I am seeing few users who greatly use the platform for how it is designed; to have an engagement.

It should be more than that.

I try to always reply to ppl commenting on my threads. All users should try to have a good ratio between commenting, reply to comments and making threads.

Well commenting is generating content. It can be rewarded but more importantly it does add data to the database.

It all feeds the same pot.

I try to reply to all the replies to my threads, sometimes I am as not as timely as I like to be in my replies, but I almost always get there in the end!

That is good. Conversations are difficult to get going, especially in the comment section of blog posts. It is much easier on threads.

Here is a place to start some engagement. It is a test thread.

I wandered over your way, apologies for the nonsensical yammering in advance 😉

i dont know the specific number . but i always try reply to the ones i get .. and if its an interesting topic that somebody has posted ( Especially about music \ art or tech etc ) , i always engage in it . :)

They were comments in general. But that is the path to follow....engage with what interests you.

I reply to everyone... UNLESS, is one of those days that inleo decide to not send notifications... then I might have missed some ehehheh

Certainly it is possible to miss notis. I am going to day as the threadcast is going to bombard my notis and I will answer on air. So I am sure some will be missed.

Ohhh yeah if you are in there, then it gets really wild eheheheh

Yeah. If the comments get busy, it all gets lost.

It is content so it is a good thing.

The wheel has to keep turning.

Facts. That's the way to keep the engagement going.

If I am right, replies should be attended to as s as possible
