Question
How is LeoAI be different from chatgpt
The big difference is this:
exactly what #leoai will be..
Thanks for the points.
You are welcome. Feel free to ask any tech related questions in here.
sure.
You are a great teacher and motivator of the time
TY. I aim to help out where I can.
about the second point, "help with writing your posts" is it allowed on hive?
When you are using something like Grammarly, yes. It is an aid.
The difference between using a tool to aid in your work or having it write for you is obvious.
fair enough

Thanks for this response.
This is one of the reasons why premium service will be a goal for everyone.
The goal is to make it so that anyone who is doing anything on Leo would be crazy not to have premium. Build so much value into it that people cannot help buy want it.

There is a lot we can learn from animals about intelligence and communication. In this era of AI and creating new systems, we have to pay attention to this.
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c978902e0ljo
Are fitness trackers still getting the attention of a few years ago. It seems that had faded a bit from the limelight.
What's everyone favourite piece of technology?
Hard question to answer since technologies tend to converge. For example, if one mentioned computers, that is now tied to mobile for the most part.
There are so many fields that are tied together. We have LLMs and data centers sucking massive amounts of energy, so we need energy breakthroughs.
Internet. LOL
#hivebr
that is fair
Yep!
I think the internet is something essential in someone's life nowadays.
#hivebr
That is a very general answer.
#newsonleo #technology #hivebr
LOL that is a good question.
Actually I did see one video where we are looking at the potential return of DVDs but with a huge amount of storage space.
That would be interesting to see how DVDs would be useful today.
Can you believe I went to a place where they take xerox copies (I don't know what it's called there) and in the corner of the store, I found some DVDs and discovered that in the past there was a DVD rental store in that place.
It's rare to see this nowadays.
#hivebr
They just went out of business here in the states.
I imagine, I once read that in São Paulo, there were I think 2,000 rental companies and currently, 3 are resisting to this day.
#hivebr
Without a doubt. It was a dead industry.
There will be other industries dying here over the next decade.
It's true, it's a path of no return and we can't do anything. Many things will end and others will adapt.

Hello technology!
Yesterday I wasn't very present here. Task and my baby's fault.
So today I will bring more activities here. Let's start with some quotes from articles I separated yesterday.
#hivebr
Task and my baby?
I didnt know I was the cause. Sorry for that. LOL
I was joking.
#hivebr
That is okay. I get blamed for a lot of crap I didnt do.
LOL
Women must say this to you a lot.
#newsonleo #technology #hivebr
that's some serious innovation here
Yes, it's true and interesting things are being developed in different sectors.
The future will be pretty incredible.
#hivebr
I agree brother the future will totally be awesome
Wow... September is coming and it's hot here, very hot. This would help a lot here in my backyard. LOL
That's a good life.
#hivebr
Better than this.
Without a doubt hahaha...

It's great to see innovations like this solid-state cooling that promises to be much more effective than what we're used to having today.
Here where I live, when it's hot, we suffer a lot and if it weren't for the air conditioning, things would be much more complicated.
With this new technology, things can be much more efficient and who knows, in the future something very accessible.
#hivebr
#newsonleo #technology #hivebr
A field worth watching. We are seeing some interesting stuff being worked upon.
In many areas it is possible to see many interesting things being developed.
#hivebr
#technology is going to really amaze people who are not paying attention. It is incredible what breakthroughs we are on the edge of.
Nothing is operating within a vacuum.
I think so too and even I am surprised by some things and imagine that in some areas we have made a lot of progress.
When the news becomes more frequent, people will be very surprised.
#hivebr
They tend not to follow it, especially the trends. Diving into it is helpful. That is why the need for the #technology threadcast.
Yes, it's true, very useful.

This week, Crunchyroll, an anime streaming website I frequent purged ALL COMMENTs in order "to protect is users." It caused a huge drama!
Amazing how these situations they are effectively saying "for our own good".
How about we get to decide what is for our own good.
Shows how important being able to control that is. Cant do that on Hive.
Yeah, it's 100% damage control... Then again, I think the comments weren't an essential feature of the app, so personally, I didn't lose anything.
LOL well I am not familiar with it but it does show what happens with the data people provide.
We are close to 100 comments. We will achieve this soon.
#hivebr
Yes. Which is not great but I am filling it. About to do a Claude chat to see if I can push it up good.
I don't think I've used Claude yet... I thought you were using Groq. LOL
There are so many emerging and that's great.
When #leoai becomes available, I will be able to see its initial potential.
#hivebr
Claude is good for some conversations. But when I search, mostly Claude.
I understood the tip, thanks.

With #tesla I am more excited about energy than robotaxi.
This is where I think the near-to-medium term growth can come from.
Task, in dollars... Are Tesla cars affordable in the United States? I mean, is it possible for anyone to buy it or is it still a very luxury item?
#hivebr
Here in Europe too, Teslas are on the road, but mostly corporate cars, and the elite segment. Not for average Joe!
Glad to know that. What I see is that everywhere only those in the elite class can use these cars.
I hope it won't be long before we can use it too.
#hivebr
It is a luxury premium auto. They are not in the economy market at all. This is one of the reasons why there is optimism for the future. The company is having success without being in the largest segment of the market.
Wow! So if it enters the market, there is no doubt that it will be much more profitable for Tesla, as many people would buy it.
#hivebr
It is going to. They are looking at bringing out a car that is $25K in the US. That will sell a lot better.
Not sure how long until it goes into production.
I hope it doesn't take long and if I ever go there, I'll try driving this car.
Here in Brazil it will be impossible to purchase because I can already imagine the price it would be here... Double triple just for taxes. LOL
#hivebr
Yeah. It is still outside the range of most people. Have no fear, the Chinese are making cheaper versions and bringing them to market.
I'm not excited about robotaxis either... Unfortunately there are still many people who are not good drivers in traffic.
In my city, you have to worry about your car as much as the people, motorcycles, trucks and other cars around you.
#hivebr
I think robotaxis will be a big thing. My view is that automated trucking is going to be bigger. That is where the real excitement enters.
What do you say, do you already have plans to happen in the near future? I was curious what that would be like.
Like... traveling from one city to another with an automated bus?
I think you will see cars first. Mass transit and trucks are going to take longer.
It will be interesting to see how it rolls out and what the path is. Nobody really knows. It could be an evolutionary thing that happens when Tesla keeps improving its software.
I understand, so first it will be the cars, as we are already starting to see.
#hivebr
That is my guess. The others are more potential though since there is a huge expense related to the drivers.
What is being done with the energy?
#hivebr
They had a record deployment this quarters. 9.6 GW. They did 14.7 all of last year.
So it is growing. The Megapack is wildly successful.
Very interesting. I confess that I didn't know this and I'm going to research it.
#hivebr
The #Tesla energy division is really amazing. I am very optimistic about that.
From what little I've read, I thought it was incredible!
This would undoubtedly solve many problems regarding energy shortages and blackouts. Have you ever written an article about this?
#hivebr
I did a number of videos on it. I will have to put one together for you in written form.
This is a room that is reserved for @coyotelation.
Wow!
It would be a very incredible dream to be able to experience this up close.
I hope we can have this privilege, my friend, one day.
#hivebr
It would be cool to spend a weekend in space.
And forget a little about the problems left on Earth... Oh! It would be really good.
#hivebr
Look at the Earth from high above. Makes everything look small.
Everything literally. Without a doubt, a vision that will never leave my head.
#hivebr
I took a ferry from Osaka to Shanghai 3 times. I imagine it’d be like that without the sunroof. 2 days of drinking, relaxing and doing whatever pops into your head
What is a space hotel?
A space hotel is a proposed concept for accommodations in outer space, designed to host tourists or other visitors for short stays. The idea involves creating a habitable structure in low Earth orbit or beyond, where guests could experience weightlessness, observe Earth from space, and potentially engage in space-related activities.
#technology #spacehotel #tourism #space
I just hope it's affordable in a few years.
I know this possibility exists.
#hivebr
It has to be built first. We will not see them until the end of the decade.
Perhaps it might be realistic for the affluent by 2035 or so.
Well then I'll have to wait a lot longer.
#hivebr
Indeed. It is going to to be a while before a lot of these youtube "technologies" come into being. It is a long term wish.
Yeah... now we have to wait...
#hivebr
The tourism sector would undoubtedly make billions of dollars in profit.
#hivebr
It will be popular among many people.
A lot of things opening up in the future.
I can't wait for that.
#hivebr
The progress of space hotels is still in its early stages, but there have been some notable developments:
International Space Station (ISS) visits: While not a hotel per se, the ISS has hosted several space tourists, demonstrating the feasibility of civilian space stays.
Axiom Space: This company is developing modules to attach to the ISS, with plans to eventually separate and form an independent commercial space station. Their first module is scheduled to launch in the next few years.
Orbital Assembly Corporation: They've proposed the Voyager Station, a large rotating structure designed to provide artificial gravity. Their ambitious timeline aims for operation by 2027, though this may be optimistic.
Blue Origin: Jeff Bezos' company has announced plans for Orbital Reef, a commercial space station that could host tourists, researchers, and other commercial activities.
Russian plans: Roscosmos, the Russian space agency, has discussed plans for a luxury space hotel module to be attached to the ISS.
Virgin Galactic: While focused on suborbital flights rather than hotels, they're advancing space tourism capabilities.
SpaceX: Has conducted private astronaut missions to the ISS and is developing Starship, which could potentially support future space tourism infrastructure.
These projects face significant technical, financial, and regulatory challenges. While progress is being made, operational space hotels are likely still several years away. The exact timeline remains uncertain and will depend on technological advancements, funding, and regulatory approvals.
Are the costs for space hotels started to come down?
The costs associated with space hotels are still extremely high, but there are some factors that could lead to cost reductions in the future:
Launch costs: SpaceX's reusable rocket technology has significantly lowered the cost of launching payloads to orbit. As this and similar technologies improve, it could reduce the cost of transporting materials and people for space hotel construction and operation.
Increased competition: More companies entering the space tourism market could drive innovation and potentially lower costs over time.
Technological advancements: Improvements in life support systems, materials science, and other relevant technologies may reduce construction and operational costs.
Scale and experience: As more structures are built in space and more people visit, economies of scale and operational experience could lead to cost reductions.
However, it's important to note that:
While there's potential for costs to decrease, space hotels will likely remain extremely expensive for the foreseeable future, catering to wealthy individuals and possibly sponsored research or corporate events.
The exact costs for future space hotels are speculative at this point, as no fully commercial space hotel has yet been built or operated. Any significant cost reductions would likely occur gradually over many years or decades as the industry develops.

What AI/Chatbots programs do you use?
Currently only what you have already presented to me such as venice.ai, groq.ai and ideogram.ai.
Not necessarily in that order, of course.
I really liked ideogram.ai because it does what it promises and satisfies me. It helps me a lot to create a cool profile for the daily sports threadcast.
#hivebr
Ideogram is cool. We need to create more images. Maybe I will make a bunch tonight.
Unfortunately @anderssinho is not following up with his threadcast about AI images.
It's a great theme for our daily lives here.
#hivebr
He hasnt been around much this week. Guess life got in the way.
True, that could be it. Sometimes when I'm out and about, I try to at least send the sports threadcast so I don't do it too late.
I realized that the best time is to start as early as possible and I need to start earlier like you do.
#hivebr
I post it as soon as I get up and fill it. That way it is on the top of the screen.
Have to try and cater to when the people are on here.
And you? What are your secrets besides Claude?
#hivebr
Really the ones we talked about. Time to investigate some more.
But I confess that I'm quite satisfied with the ones I have here hahaha...
Now, if there is another similar to ideogram.ai I would be very interested.
#hivebr
Yeah that one needs some improvement. I will look around.
Excellent! Thanks Task.
#hivebr
I will do the new format for news articles on the threadcast tomorrow. It is a great idea I think.
@coyotelation. Are you around this weekend?
Yes, I will be a friend and I have already started doing some sports news in the new format.
I'm really enjoying doing it. Brings more content for anyone interested in reading.
#hivebr
I used it today for the #technology page. It takes a bit more time but is a better layout I believe.
You're right, the format creates a much better layout and I really enjoyed reading the news.
At X I practically go there just to catch up on world news.
Here we can do something similar with this new format.
#hivebr
Yes. We need to get a lot of it in there.

Iris Energy (IREN), the Australian Bitcoin mining company, saw its shares plunge 14% on Jul. 12 after short seller Culper Research issued a report, raising concerns over Iris’ capabilities to provide high-performance computing (HPC) services for artificial intelligence (AI) in Childress, Texas.
In a Jul. 11 report, Culper said that Iris’ flagship Childress buildout “lacks numerous features that are critical to HPC applications,” adding that the firm’s management — Iris Co-CEO Daniel Roberts and his brother Will — have started selling their own shares since February, which was the first time since Iris went public.

A new bill introduced by a group of bipartisan Senators seeks to combat the misuse of artificial intelligence (AI) deep fakes by mandating watermarking of such content.
The bill, presented by Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA), Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), and Senator Martin Heinrich (D-NM), proposes a standardized method for watermarking content generated by AI.
Dubbed the Content Origin Protection and Integrity from Edited and Deepfaked Media Act (COPIED), it will bolster creator protection and establish controls on the types of content on which AI can be trained.

A recent report from the United Kingdom’s Law Commission has concluded decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) need to be regulated under existing financial regulations and tax frameworks.
Published on July 11, the research paper stated there’s no immediate requirement to create a separate entity to oversee and regulate DAOs but urged authorities to “keep the matter under review.”
The paper acknowledged the lack of general consensus over “what a DAO is,” adding that the ecosystem tends to adjust its operations according to local judicial requirements.

This sucks for AT&T customers.
Today, AT&T announced a massive data breach that lacked almost all customer call and text records. According to AT&T in April AT&T learned that customer data was illegally downloaded on a third-party cloud platform. At this time AT&T says it has taken steps to close off access to its content.
“At this time, we do not believe that the data is publicly available,” AT&T said in a statement. “We sincerely regret this incident occurred and remain committed to protecting the information in our care.”

Now that cord cutters have saved money on TV, the question has become how to save money on Internet. Cord cutting 2.0 is becoming more popular as TV customers look to cut the cord on their cable company.
According to a survey of over 1,000 of our readers, we have a good idea what cord cutters are paying.
For the first time in recent memory the top cable TV companies lost Internet customers in 2023. According to a report from Leichtman Research Group, the top cable TV companies, like Comcast, lost 65,000 customers in 2023. This is down from adding 530,000 subscribers in 2023.

Sony Decides Not to Buy Pluto TV & Paramount+
Last week, Paramount and Skydance officially announced a deal to merge. With this deal Skydance will buy the Redstone families majority control of Paramount. Part of the deal though gave the Redstone family 45 days to look for other buyers to beat the Skydance offer.
One of the other potential buyers was Sony, who had looked at Paramount but now has decided not to buy Paramount, including its streaming services Pluto TV and Paramount+. This comes from a report by Deadline who says their sources confirmed Sony dropped out of the bid. Sony had reportedly made a preliminary $26 billion offer, but Paramount decided to go with Skydance instead. After that, Sony declined not to make a new offer.
