https://www.reuters.com/technology/space/china-launches-first-satellites-constellation-rival-starlink-state-media-says-2024-08-06/
It was only a matter of time.
I felt safer without them, though :)

That is going to be in the courts for years. I doubt this is the only industry to sue them.
It's keen to sue them early, they can hardly settle everything - the company is about to go under.

I think even potato chips makers could get money from the USG right now. Anything to do with chips they will pour billions into.
Hehe :)
Reuters: China's Huawei and BAIC Motor launch first jointly developed EV

Just what China needed...another EV maker. There are only like 200 of them.
And yet they will dominate most of the market in the EU; and likely in the Americas too.

I doubt that :)
You are doing a great job @taskmaster4450. Your consistency and hard work does not go unnoticed. @sircork and I were just discussing you yesterday.
#freecompliments
Don't worry, I said nice things! Feel like that needs to be clarified if people hear that I was in a conversation containing mention of them! LOLOL
Oh for heaven's sake! Don't be so paranoid! Did you not see the #freecompliments tag? 🤣
don't do dramaBesides, @taskmaster4450le could give a care one way or another. I have known him online for some time now. He so no drama coin for him. I don't even think @whatsup coin is a thing anymore!
Also my intent by tagging you was to get curiosity out there as to who you are for the folks that don't know! There is a method to my madness!
Aw shucks, thanks. It's pretty hard to find OGs who haven't at least heard my name somewhere in the distant past. ;)
Not everyone is an HIVE old gangster (OG). Just getting you reintroduced. I am sure your reputation preceeds you. 😁

If one wants to be a serious content creator (actually a serious anything) then consistency is key.
Also if one takes ownership, which is one of the core tenets of #web3, then it also applies.
Do you know there are AI that can help with presentation. Instead of going through the horrors of working on power point, you can give your thoughts to an AI or your documents and it will make it into a presentation

A great tip.
It is being incorporated into everything.

Interesting. I didnt know they were in the game to such a degree either.
More lawsuits will be flying.
Of course, by the time these hit court, we will be so far down the road it is stunning.
Tik Tok Tik Tok Tik …
Did you hear about TikTok pulling the plug on its "Task and reward" feature? It used to let users earn points for doing things in the app, which they could swap for Amazon vouchers. Sounds fun, right? But it turns out it was raising some red flags about making young people even more hooked on the app. TikTok has promised not to sneak it back in under another name, and if they break that promise, they could be in big trouble. The European Commission will be keeping a close eye to make sure they stick to their word. Meanwhile, there's another investigation underway looking into how TikTok's main algorithm might be affecting users.
>SOURCE<
I saw a headline but didnt dive into it much since I dont know much (or care about) TikTok.
One thing is the USG is looking to target TikTok so nothing surprises me. They will be attacked from all angles.
When „earning points for amazon vouchers“ is addictive what are the official legislators gonna think of INLEO?
LOL for the US Government? As long as InLeo isnt Chinese they would not be upset.
how will this looks like after everywhere and everything is resolved by technology
#technology
I am not sure everything will be resolved by technology but we are going to see some major changes.
It is best, in my opinion, to keep up on these things.
but if everything can be resolved by technology it will be of good help
Everything cant be resolved by technology because people will still be people.
That is the point a lot of people miss. No matter how much we improve things, people still find things to dislike about others and to want to harm/destroy others.
if technology can play all the parts needed In the world then the will be no need for danger and emergency
Are you serious?
Do you think then people would suddenly get along?
i think so
Hello technology!
I arrived a little late, but it was because of the instability that hit the platform today.
Fortunately, things will return to normal.
LOL the platform was working for lots of hours before then. You were hiding.
Wow Task! What a serious accusation! LOL
I am innocent.
Will $LEO becomes an #ai play? I am not talking about an AI coin for crypto but a true AI platform.
This is something that @khaleelkazi needs to serious discuss.
@mightpossibly
Look at this. It is what we discussed. Highlights the importance of getting this on Hive.
https://techcrunch.com/2024/08/05/youtuber-files-class-action-suit-over-openais-scrape-of-creators-transcripts/
Really. Yeah I've heard some youtubers talk about this too. Good thing we're working on it
As much as YouTubers don't want to give up their data simply out of greed, OpenAI will find another way to improve its AI.
On the other hand, I don't think Youtubers will win this in court.
I also find that unlikely
Well we can start the process of converting things into an open, permissionless database.
Just start.
It also exemplifies the hunt for data. Notice it is OpenAI always getting hit. They are the ones who dont have their own data center like Meta, Musk, and Google.
We need to start pulling this onto here so that we can become an epicenter in that regard.
that's an interesting observation. And you're right, we really do. News articles, transcripts, all of it. I have not forgotten that I'm supposed to post the literally thousands of video transcripts I currently have stored. But I'm awaiting to see the transcripts feature of videos on leo before I start doing that.
Honestly I wouldnt hold my breathe on that one. It seems like there is a mountain of work to be done before it is a viable feature.
https://inleo.io/threads/view/taskmaster4450le/re-leothreads-2q7crfbxk
In my opinion, if these AI models need to obtain data to be effective in their programming, it is a path of no return for these other companies and influencers, as the greed for more money will not be the reason for these AIs to progress from now on.
One way or another they will find ways to obtain this data.
https://inleo.io/threads/view/taskmaster4450le/re-khaleelkazi-3bhjce9t7
Let's increase these numbers.
I'm sure the leoshorts will be fixed for us to wear a lot. This will help bring more activities to the platform.
Yes we can engage with them. They are quick to watch and easy to answer.
Absolutely and I'm looking forward to when we actually manage to have this interaction.
Very true. There are a few showing up. Whatever I see I try to engage with.
https://inleo.io/threads/view/taskmaster4450le/re-leothreads-2q7crfbxk
Hey Task, do you think we can hit 120k?
We can set another date to break the Party record. See with @caleb-marvel another day so we can increase the numbers.
My wife took me by surprise and I couldn't stay here as long. 😅
Yes I think we can. We did go over 103,900, last month. If shorts gets fixed, we can add to it.
But we have to look at the ways to get more up. It is helping the numbers.
Great to know, I'm also thinking about how to increase these numbers faster and what I can say is that videos can help a lot.
I'm using the strategy of filling the threadcasts with videos in addition to sharing the news.
The videos like the shorts, we will have a very considerable number for August.
It is nice to fill the threadcasts. That helps a great deal. We simply have to keep pushing things in a more powerful way.
We can bring it up, which day can be good for us all?
Yep
That is a lot, I will do my very best to dump in at least 500!
Excellent. Go for it.
They can scrape Hive if they want.
Thinking about it from this point on, Hive is better off not being on their radar.
Well there is nothing that prevents anyone in the world pulling the data. It is open and permissionless.
True, you're right.
For those who fear #technology:
We invented fire. Then we also invented the fire department, extinguishers, and fire proof file cabinets.
Keep this in mind the next time someone shares about how we are going to create something that is used to destroy us.

Google loses massive antitrust case over search, will appeal ruling
A judge has ruled against Google in a long-running case against the company over its dominance in the search market.
Google will appeal a U.S. District Court judge’s opinion Monday that found the technology giant acted illegally to maintain a monopoly in online search.
The decision from Judge Amit P. Mehta of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia is a major defeat for Google that could alter the way it does business and even change the structure of the internet as we know it, should the decision stand.

UK's Riverlane scores $75M to correct quantum errors
Quantum computing may still largely be in the theoretical domain, but the money that it’s attracting is very real.
Quantum computing may still largely be in the theoretical domain, but the money that it’s attracting is very real. Riverlane, a specialist in quantum error correction technology, has raised $75 million to continue expanding its R&D and operations to build its operations amid a surge of interest from quantum computing customers — technologists hard at work building what could be the next great leap in computing power, if only they can tame those fail rates.

Figure’s new humanoid robot leverages OpenAI for natural speech conversations
Figure 02 is outfitted with speakers and microphones to speak and listen to people at work.
Figure has unveiled its latest humanoid robot, the Figure 02. The system is — and its name helpfully suggests — the successor to the Figure 01 robot unveiled in 2023. An initial teasr video is similar to those we’ve seen from other humanoids, echoing consumer electronics product videos, rather than a raw demo of the robot in action.

How do you use #ai? What are some of the things you are doing with it?
Ai has really made thing easy but the part of AI that people still dont understand is AI prompting. AI is artificial and it will only operate based on what you tell it. If you give it the wrong prompting then you will have to do the work over and over again
The other part is that it isnt high precision right now. That is why when people ask for something very specific, it is hit or miss. When going general, the AI will create (generate) something with greater latitude.
very true, we are yet to see its full potential

I use #ai as a search engine (I think it is better than google search). Also I have made prompts to create ai created images, some I have shared on inleo. Lots of other stuff, but this is short form blogging!
Search can be tricky since it doesnt do as well with high precision. But then Google search isnt that either.
