The world have more than enough energy to power itself many times over. The problem is harnessing it.

Here is another area where we could get enough power for everyone on the planet: underwater volcanoes.

The eruptions under out oceans could give us enough power according to researchers.

Good luck trying to figure out how to harness that.

Yea there is plenty of energy out there but we don't have the ability to harness it right now.

We cant even harness the energy from the sun. That is the most obvious place.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Well that is what solar energy is for but the efficiency just isn't good enough. I think the energy it produces though is enough to cover all the energy we need in the world though.

By about 10K times on a daily basis. If we could even harness one percent of the energy that hits the Earth each day from the sun, we would be powering everything we could dream of.

Sadly, you are right. Due to the conversion, even most of what hits the solar panels is lost.

Yeah the efficiency is a big issue right now. Solar is also expensive and if you decide to go the panel path there is also a future issue that is the disposal of obsolete panels. Those suckers are not easy to recycle

Yea but the issue is that people always talk about the benefits of solar but not about the recycling issue. I find that a lot of people will find it as rude awakening.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yea.. they will probably only turn to this issue when it's already too big.

It's possible that the recycling processes evolve and become cheaper but that's not very likely in my opinion because not many companies invest in that. I think a more likely scenario is that we get better panels and, in parallel, slowly start shifting to other solar technologies.

This is something which will take years together to get implemented I suppose .

India is doing well in this front , they started few initiatives to start utilizing the energy from oceans in maximum way , although they never mentioned underground volcanoes , their aim and thoughts are good .

I am not sure how you even go about harnessing a volcano. It sounds rather difficult if you ask me. LOL

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Sounds impossible with current technology and resources atleast . They must focus on how to retrieve the existing oceanic resources for energy first than this .

I posted a link in here to a story about a tidal power generator being installed.

So they are working upon it.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yea, sounds a bit tricky...

We might have to wait for Elon Musk to create VolcanoX and get it done LOL

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

If he does, Wall Street will toss him billions of dollars to start it.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Hell, if I'm rich when that happens even I would throw him a bone lol

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I don't think the crab people would be too happy if we tried to steal their energy supply :P
