Very interesting article about being a reckless spender versus being prudent with decisions.

This can get tough when the spenders are close friends or family.

The answer is very insightful that we are all examples of what to be.

Sort:

We’ve been honest sounding boards during money fights, and we’ve offered to take savings/debt classes, but old habits die hard.

Old habits die hard, is amazing how one gets unrest then he knows he has some fortune somewhere. But when there is nothing, we leave with it. Most people are not willing to invest, and it's an act of indiscipline

You are right. We are creatures of habit. We are also products of our environment thus we often model what we say.

If our family was crappy with money, we tend to be also.

People who realize they’re spending more than their peers — those of a similar socioeconomic status — will cut back on their spending. In theory, that is.

I think this is nice. Too bad it isn't always true in reality. It may help when you lead by example though.

No I dont think that is necessarily true. In fact, I dont think most people discuss financial matters that much with close friends or family.

Money seems to be a taboo subject that doesnt get discussed a great deal.

True. But you know those people tend to brag on what they buy on social media so other people might see it. Then again, its hard to know how much they make unless you know them.

I'm trying to share my plans with people that are close to me. Now, even more, because I found out about all the opportunities in crypto.

Not easy because they are way too attached to their own vision, but I'll try to tear down the walls brick by brick.

It is not easy. But the more success you have, the more they might see the vision. It is a hard task to get others to see what is going on.

They will, but in their own time.

That's true. I believe the more they see how my life is changing, the more real it becomes to them. Good point.

Be sure to "advertise" it periodically and let them know how things are changing for you.

It will be important to show it over time.
