Is smart clothing the next big thing? Technology is going to be ubiquitous soon. It is already mostly around us. Within a decade, it will likely be all around us.

Wow, thats some very smart clothing, I got some shirts that are supposed to cool you when you sweat, I don't think they did anything for me. I'm not so sure I want my clothing connecting to any internet, its just not right.

Yea I don't want it connected to the internet. All you need to know is some guy in Facebook or Google is controlling the sensors in your clothing. If they don't like you, they can make your life uncomfortable until you change clothes.

Means more data the big tech platforms can steal from us under the guise of a product. Who knows what they are planning to do with that information. My guess is that it will be used for marketing but they could also be selling the information to medical companies.

Did you see that 23 and Me was acquired by a Wall Street hedge fund. A million DNA samples on file.

What do you think they are going to do with it?

I think they are going to sell the information over to China. Isn't it obvious that they will chase the money. China has been collecting people's DNA from all over the world when you do those heritage tests. As for what they will do with it, I have no idea but I don't think its good for ordinary people.

I am sure they are going to sell it multiple times. Not only to China but to US companies too.

That's an interesting application of technology in daily life.

To be honest I don't think the use cases they mentioned would be groundbreaking just because they are in clothes but the concept of having a piece of fabric hooked up with state-of-the-art technology itself is impressive to me. Lots of possibilities.

Imagine a football coach getting real-time data from the team through their smart uniforms and being able to adapt the strategy on the go. That's probably a very simple use of the technology but it makes you think of what could be achieved with that.
