That is a costly decision. I know that countries put up big bucks to try and get the Olympics and start upgrades long before the games start. The key is money flowing in, something that isnt going to happen now.

I think the world ought to get use to events like this as we forge deeper into this decade. By the middle of this one, we might not be inclined to visit in person because of the hassle.

Imagine if VR was near to the experience as live. I saw a video yesterday of what VR is starting to look like, I will try and find it.

Now you're talking. I'd forgotten about The Olympics and Japan will surely take a hit, but the tweet says no foreign spectators. So will it be just local Japanese? or a vast empty stadium?

If they are like the rest of the world, if they allow spectators, it will be in limited number.

If we have VR, I think it would completely destroy the entire business models. Then again we might just have virtual cities as tourism for people during the breaks.

The industry that I often think of as cooked when VR comes about is the seminar/conference industry. There is big money in that (pre COVID anyway) for hotels and event planners.

Who needs that with VR?

Hookers are going to be the "real" losers when VR hits. lol

Yeah VR porn is going to be huge, no pun intended.
