Mohamed Salah equals Liverpool icon’s Premier League record with goal against Arsenal
Mohamed Salah has gone level with Robbie Fowler in the Premier League scoring rankings thanks to his goal against Arsenal.
The Egyptian winger fired in Liverpool's equaliser with less than 10 minutes to go to make it 2-2 at the Emirates.
Arsenal had gone ahead through Bukayo Saka's own record-setting goal, before Virgil van Dijk equalised nine minutes later.
Mikel Merino then scored what the Gunners thought would be the winner as the game ticked into the final minutes at 2-1.
But Trent Alexander-Arnold's beautiful ball over the top near the end of the game was picked up by Darwin Nunez who unselfishly passed it to Salah.
The Egyptian made no mistake as he fired home to finish off a well-worked goal from the away side.
Salah is already Liverpool's leading Premier League scorer and took the title in their 7-0 thrashing of Manchester United in March 2023.
But he went one step further in the top flight by equalling the overall tally set by club legend Fowler on Sunday away at Arsenal.
The 32-year-old's goal is his 163rd in the Premier League, most of which have come for Liverpool but his first two were with Chelsea.
