Garrett Crochet to draw in big haul for White Sox
White Sox star lefty Garrett Crochet seems certain to go in trade this winter.
And the White Sox should do much better than their deadline offers even two years from free agency (instead of three).
Rivals predict they will receive a “blue-chip” prospect, and probably more.
The Dodgers and Phillies are among teams at the forefront of talks, as USA Today’s Bob Nightengale reported. The Orioles, stocked with the best collection of young position players, are in.
So are the Mets, as The Post first reported.
Dodgers 2B Gavin Lux, dangled in at least one deadline bid, seem like a trade candidate, especially with Mookie Betts moving to the infield.
The Cardinals will consider trading 3B Nolan Arenado, as Katie Woo of The Athletic first reported.
Arenado could fit the Yankees or Mets.
So could star SS Willy Adames, willing to consider 3B (for the right team).
The Yankees like both Alex Bregman and Adames. They could be part of their Plan B in case top priority Juan Soto goes to the Mets or elsewhere.
The Yankees are letting Gleyber Torres look around but could consider him later depending on what he finds.
The Yankees are “in on everyone.” That includes Blake Snell, Corbin Burnes and Max Fried, plus top relievers. Though most of the stars become more serious options if Soto isn’t re-signed.
