Back then people were happier.
Not really. It is easy to romanticize how things were. Illness was often dehabilitating. Child labor laws were almost non existent. Poverty rates were worse.
People do not realize how good they have it today.
Task, you're right, thinking about this point, nowadays it's much better thanks to science and technology.
