Attention Occupied

Last night, I was looking at the price of HIVE on the markets, but couldn't quite get a round 0.3000 price for the picture, but I think this one looks okay. 30c seems undervalued to me for HIVE, but it is fine for now. Though honestly, I wouldn't mind it sitting up around the dollar mark instead at this point. With so much happening in the world currently, it would be nicer to have a longer way to fall before, and a shorter way to climb after the crashing economy.

But markets don't care about what I think.

Talking with a colleague this morning over a cup of coffee, she mentioned how it just seems like it is one thing after another. Covid, Ukraine, inflation, interest rates, and now, Israel and Palestine. It really does feel like one step forward, two steps back in the world today, and there looks like there is more to come. Further pain caused through the building bust in China, growing tensions in Serbia and Kosovo...

I see it as a symptom of the economy today, where there are so many disparities that have been built through the various monopolization activities of governments and corporations, that ultimately leads to polarization. Rather than conversation and collaboration to build, the focus becomes to destroy, with every topic an "us versus them" point of contention. It doesn't matter what the argument is about, the media will use it to generate clicks, the corporations to sell more products, the governments to take more control.

We are just pawns.

Cannon fodder in the system. And the reason is that we have continually given up our rights of agency to proxies, who use our power to create more power for themselves, just like a bank uses our deposits of wealth, to generate more wealth for themselves, and their shareholders. When we give up control of our resources, it really only leads in one direction. And, our decision-making ability is a resource.

Essentially, we are pooling our resources together, but putting them in the hands of people who are power-hungry, but don't have our wellbeing in their thirst. So, their insatiable appetite will eventually hurt the very people who enable it. It is like having a drug addict living under our own roof and expecting them to pay rent, and feed their addiction - eventually, the addiction wins out, and they start stealing from under the roof that protects them.

Is that a good visualization?

Yet, what keeps the game going is that rather than deal with the addict stealing from us, we are fighting with our neighbors over the fence about an overhanging branch and who is going to clean up the Autumn leaves that land in our yard. It is argumentative busywork, that occupies our attention, whilst the real damage is being done behind our back, in our own homes. And, this is happening globally and in every company, across international borders, across demographics and classes.

We are occupied.

Glued to the medias as if "staying informed" with what is happening out of reach, is going to keep it from getting to us. Yet, the elements that are affecting us daily, harming us daily, we leave in place, getting hurt continuously, as if the painful normal we know, is the only way it can be.

It is the same lie as "the economy has to crash"

No it doesn't. It only crashes through massive mismanagement that creates imbalances. If there was more direct trade, rather than trading on debt and all of the money-making mechanisms employed to extract value from the masses, the economy would be far more stable. The "crash" would come through the changeovers of industries failing and being replaced by new industries, but not the entire economy falling and rising in waves. Crashes are not part of the natural laws of economics, they are when the natural laws are being manipulated. It is like what happens when you fill the ground, air and waterways with pollution - the natural environment responds.

Yet hear we all are, trapped in a broken system, busywork fighting with the neighbors, whilst the people who keep the system broken, continue their unrelenting quest for power over who controls our resources.

Good game.

I guess it is time to take back control in the best way I know how... educating the youth so they don't make the same mistakes as their parents. Time to get back in the classroom and make an impact.

After all, Gandhi said it best -- "Be the change you want to see."

Are you actively looking at teaching again now?

Yup. It is an easy fallback since I am certified in Math. Everyone wants a math teacher...

It has always been and will always be the same...wash, rinse, repeat. We, the small grains of sand will be crushed to produce the exquisite glass valued by the elite pieces of shit.

We, the small grains of sand will be crushed to produce the exquisite glass valued by the elite pieces of shit.

This is a good visual too!!

But the markets don't care what I think.

The elites what cause all kinds of crises just the same 😊.

It's nice to see an article with so much obviousness in my eyes where another sees it as some kind of conspiracy thing I wish it were true but no...........

I don't think it is a conspiracy of secret societies - I see it as a conspiracy of incentive alignment. The incentive is to make money and take power. Those who do it successfully can make and take more.

A vicious cycle of self-destruction for people on their feet

Though honestly, I wouldn't mind it sitting up around the dollar mark instead at this point.

In the ideal world Hive price would only go up. It is a shame that we live not in the ideal world.

. Covid, Ukraine, inflation, interest rates, and now, Israel and Palestine. It really does feel like one step forward, two steps back in the world today, and there looks like there is more to come. Further pain caused through the building bust in China, growing tensions in Serbia and Kosovo...

Human stupidity never ceases to amaze me.

I would be a great dictator in an ideal world! :D

Human stupidity never ceases to amaze me.

Human stupidity and will for violence are about the only constant.

I wonder if there is something left that our generation has not experinced yet. Perhaps, something in space, discovering aliens?

True peace?
A balanced economy?
A good government?

:D

We don't deserve them 😄

Yep, markets gonna market for sure. There isn't a ton we can do there. I see now that there might be some tensions in North and South Korea too. I hope that isn't the case. All this volatility makes it hard to guess where we are going next.

I see now that there might be some tensions in North and South Korea too.

I get the feeling that a lot of these tensions are being engineered. It is a crime of opportunity.

I wonder if cryptocurrencies will one day be part of the world system or are they already part of the system and those who use them today are used as lab rats?

Well - I hope so - because that is what I am doing here :)

Those who are power thirsty arent going to think about ourselves or the global state of economy and how it is gravely impacting our lives at most points. They even care less about own lives and the threats imposed upon own territory or people, let alone other affairs!

Power is such a cruel game and those who attempt to cling to it, never restrain without colouring their hands with bloods!

But I think, through these times is what economic life goes on and examples such as world war II and Great economic depression, the reality is the world overcame those challenges, civilizations torn apart and in place of those new one created.

Who cares really ! 🫤

Power is such a cruel game and those who attempt to cling to it, never restrain without colouring their hands with bloods!

There seems to be no human power immune to overreach. The only true power is nature, as it doesn't care what happens to it or how long it takes, it just does what it does completely objectively.

he reality is the world overcame those challenges, civilizations torn apart and in place of those new one created.

This is true, but at what cost to us? "Those who forget their history are doomed to repeat it" - and here we are again, and again, and again - seems we will never learn.

and here we are again, and again, and again - seems we will never learn.

I can feel the anguish, mate. But, what can be said more? Greed is the poison that destroyed human's soul, for that occurrences are leading to wars. But looks like human endeavour to stop it, failing at most times.

I think, when the time will terminate existences, we would have no time to " learn ", thats paradoxically positive.

It really does feel like one step forward, two steps back in the world today, and there looks like there is more to come.

Let's face it since 2010 to2020 we had very good peaceful world, though some things were there but I feel that we lived a decade of peaceful life. And the woke drama was meant to end. Conservative people wanted to tap out. China wanted to curl population and so on. Now I feel even the blockchain was designed by world elites and not satoshi because it seems like it is working in favor of elites now.

Well, I think it was 2013 that there was the Crimea issue. But, is the best we can hope for 10 years? I don't think blockchain works in favor of elites - I think we work in favor of elites.

We are definitely in a messed up economy and it doesn't help that the governments don't care about the future. They just keep spending like crazy and the best we can do is try to stay alive. The laws tend to benefit the rich and powerful.

The laws tend to benefit the rich and powerful.

And the masses keep following along, wondering why always suffering.

I see it as a symptom of the economy today, where there are so many disparities that have been built through the various monopolization activities of governments and corporations, that ultimately lead to polarization.

Honestly, if you analyze all inequalities at any level, country-wise, continent-wise, all the pollution we are creating, all the countries still under "dictatorships" and the awful way politicians are governing, it is just a matter of time before we end up into a big global conflict. Not to mention, crime, international mafias, and so on.
Just looking at Israel images, people at a party having fun and all of a sudden their lives are taken away because the other side feels they have been mistreated for decades. There is no safe place anymore.

it is just a matter of time before we end up into a big global conflict.

Yes. And this time, we can destroy ourselves utterly. I think I would prefer that result, but it will still be a last resort - so instead, it will be years of bloody conflict and suffering, only for someone to finally send the first nuke, and then the rest will follow. Maybe just cut to the end - we all see a flash and it is over.

I have just a question. Do we think that Hive price can go up with everything happening in the world because it is obvious that it is affecting the economy

I am the wrong person to ask. I always think it can go up :)

In my own terms I can't really quantify what the country has not experienced, honestly you are right,it's just like one step forward and three steps backwards.

I'd like to think that we are more aware of the different issues of the world because of the prevalence of social media, and how easy it is to share information. Technology is also more advance now. I remember in Ukraine, they had a big internet problem before Starlink arrived. Without it, we wouldn't be as updated about the situation there as we were. When news were just from television, they were easily controlled by the government. But with social media and people sharing their experiences, we get a lot of views from different perspectives.

What I'm getting at is that apart from Covid which was a rare global pandemic, there might not be more than the usual amounts of issues around the world. The middle east has been at war for a long time. Russia has taken Crimea before. China has been trying to increase their areas for a long time now. They were just a few minutes of update in the news back then, and we are getting a lot of updates on them now.

Goes it’s more satisfying to be outraged about the things one can’t really do anything about than acknowledge the things one can because one might then have to actually do something 🤣

Glued to the medias as if "staying informed" with what is happening out of reach, is going to keep it from getting to us.

Aren't many of us, or at least a significant portion, simply in denial about this? We often seek refuge in the comfort and tranquility of our own nation, expressing our opinions on social issues but not taking concrete steps to make a difference.

It's truly disheartening to witness the state of affairs in the world today.
And like you said, it is clear that we are often too absorbed in our own concerns, too self-centered.

Nice sharing. Yeah the world is just messy these days. Let's hope peace will come soon.

Actually, my wish is for cryptocurrencies to limit state power. Now, everything is a controversy, we are leaving one situation and entering another one much more controversial than the previous one. The economy will not collapse; but there will be a lot of manipulation and instability because of this whole scenario. Peace? Limited government? Freedom of thought and personal freedom? All three are needed in this now corrupt world.

Thanks for sharing your perspective.
