After four months of development and beta testing, Rise of the Pixels is now live. Some features were added to the initial concept and there are a lot of aspects of the game that I still need to learn about. But for now, I'm going to give it an initial run through as I've already played the last version of the beta game and have a bit of idea on what I need to do.

Opening Packs and Marketplace

I had a game dev studio license and 8 packs to open. Each of these packs contain a team member NFT, an accessory NFT, as well as in-game PXL tokens.

I'm a bit hesitant to open my packs as I've once pulled legendary and epic NFTs during the beta test which means I'm bound to get commons in the actual game. But I managed to get two epic NFTs this time around from the 8 packs I opened so I'm happy about it.

I got an epic designer and keyboard. I'm going to try and flip it in the market first and maybe use the funds to pick higher rarities once the prices settle or buy more packs and try my luck again.

The in-game marketplace for buying and selling NFTs is pretty well-built. But I already expected this as the team is also the same people behind Peakmonsters and it is my preferred Splinterlands marketplace.

Developing a Game

Now I'll use the remaining NFTs I have to develop a game and try out the mechanics. I didn't really pay attention to the various stats for now and just picked the highest skilled developers for my team. I equipped them with all of the accessories I had as well.

During game development, it will let you choose your own game title, its genre, and the platform it will be available on. You can also add your own game description and cover artwork. You then choose your developers for the game as well as distribute

My first game is called Lightyear Knights which is a space-themed RPG. I set the development time to six hours. I can set it to as long as 24 hours but that would increase the development cost as well.

So now I'll wait and see the rating of my game and whether or not my launch will be profitable. I'm honestly a bit skeptical as I'm only using common NFTs for this game project but we'll see. If you guys want to try this game as well, just head over to https://riseofthepixels.com/

I was thinking about playing this game but I just don't want to make the time for it right now. This is a great article that almost pushes me over the edge.
