Well that's how it is unless there's a major change coming. You get to support the witnesses you think do it right. Hive is an imperfect system, like everything, but still has potential. The auto downvotes seem to come from someone with an axe to grind. People are imperfect too and will fall out.

I think system is fixed if hive has a rewarding alternative to the current hive rewards. So Hive itself doesn't use POB anymore and becomes gas token.
So whales that want control doesn't need to "protect" their investment.
Curating content becomes more laser focus in niche communities.
From science to funny shitposts and memes. And every topic has there own reward mechanic.
This would also "little accounts" give a reason to build their community. Like onboard their followers or something like that.
Who knows it will ever happen, this was something i loved about the SMT idea.
