the Biden administration signed an executive order for the replacement of the entire fleet of federal vehicles with US-built electric cars, vans and trucks;

Everything changes very quickly in this world!

Yes it does change very quick. The only thing is we will end up paying the bill for electric vehicles. There was a reason why the USPS choose to go hybrid setup compared to full electric (due to costs). I guess it just means they will up our taxes to make up for the deficit.

Taxes are going up anyway. Biden just about promised that.

This Congress is excited to stick it to the American people. Not that most Congresses dont but we really have the loons in there now.

Yea but even the USPS has to worry about their budget since it takes forever to ensure they are funded. This is especially the case because of their pension liabilities. However Congress has no limitations so what they are doing is not good economically. I feel like they just want to pass more of the costs over to the ordinary citizen.

I do agree taxes will go up because of Biden. Its just dumb how people are just now starting to complain. In the end, the ordinary citizen is dumb for thinking Biden is going to change what is the norm. Now the issue in my mind is: Will wages stay stagnant or will they continue to grow? I think it will be stagnant.

Will wages stay stagnant or will they continue to grow?

Wages, for the most part, were stagnant over the past couple of decades due to the threat of automation. Now that we are actually seeing automation being implemented, I fail to see how the wages will ascend.

I do agree taxes will go up because of Biden. Its just dumb how people are just now starting to complain.

Isn't that the truth?

What is amazing is he advertised what he was going to do...well what he is being told to do. And now people are starting to get upset at what is being done and he acting like a tyrant.

The government believes that accelerating the transition to electric vehicles is one of the most logical and appropriate levers to realize a Green New Deal, an economic recovery based on sustainability.

When you have a technology that greatly reduces the amount of emissions no matter how you evaluate them and no matter where the energy comes from (despite the misinformation persistently spread by the oil industry), but also reduces the total cost of ownership, it is common sense to consider substitution. The savings that would arise if the entire US automobile fleet went electric are estimated to be in the region of $70 billion.

I think it is really going to drive the economy into the future

Going to be tough to get all those batteries.

More trying to force technology when it simply isnt ready.

I think the biggest issue is Lithium right? I heard that supply-wise there isn't enough right now. Especially since other people are starting to branch into using it as well. It is possible that a huge shortage could cause very heavy problems down the line if the miners don't step up.

That and nickel.

Batteries for EVs require a lot of that one too so Musk is always on the hunt for more of that.
