I made in the last week app.1000 $ profit with AMPL. Bought, it doubled, I sold the half, the remaining part doubled again. Really crazy.
You don´t see it in the chart, but almost every day new tokens are added to the existing ones (on Bitfinex).

I took some risk and bought $200 worth of AMPL yesterday. I got like 10 AMPL this morning which are worth more than 20 bucks. That is really crazy 😀
I will aslo take out the initial investment after a few days.
I think taking out your $1000 was a good idea. Even if the remaining amount goes to 0, you will lose nothing.
