I've seen a lot of folks in disenfranchised communities kind of shit on crypto and bitcoin, because at face value it's just another part of the existing financial structures that have kept people down.
I've seen this particularly in the LGBTQ+ community, because as a trans person that's the community I'm part of.
But I think, as you said, that blockchain presents opportunities that LGBTQ+ and BIPOC folks and folks in oppressed governmental systems can particularly benefit from, so I try to take any opportunity I can to steer people in this direction and claim space for themselves.
I'm relatively new to crypto, having only gotten into it this past January, but so far Hive is checking nearly all of the boxes for tech that benefits disenfranchised people.
