Without consumers the rich will be worth - less with time. So there must and will be a system of universal basic income of some sought when the fear of Tech taking over actually happens (which would take years) .
But the poor will be effectively controlled.
I don't think there will ever be a successful UBI. There will almost certainly be an UBI -- just not a successful one.

I was also thinking that if Tech makes the mass production, it would make the price of goods cheaper, so the little everyone gets would almost be sufficient. It's those who can create a means of entertainment would be the ones to break out of poverty.
There will always be those who just won't/can't take care of themselves no matter how much income or life-sustaining goods they are provided.
Just a part of the human condition I am afraid.
