they were the shit when they came out and probably for a couple of years... but for a long time, they really stagnated, copy everyone else and had a great marketing strategy, that has been great since the beginning and created a literal cult LOL

All true. There was a time that described Microsoft. That company completely missed the Internet move.
So it can happen where stagnation takes place with innovation and they bounce back. That said, are things moving at such a pace that a company simply cannot catch up?

the Asian technology markets are way more evolved and the west will struggle to catch up.
I wouldnt go that far. You have the largest tech companies in the world in the US. China is getting strong but still lagging in many ways. Plus the USG has the DOE and DOD, both which excel technologically.
A lot of tech comes down to the money thrown at it. That is why China and the US are leading.
everything just goes too fast now.
