Hello everyone in the Splinterverse, hope you all are enjoying the battles in Splinterland. It's time for another weekly battle challenge and I am so happy to see the challenge about an useful fire little tank this week. In the followings, I would like to show some special strategies on my combination. Let's move on and don't forget to have fun reviewing the battle and enjoy the new giveaway!!

About ANTOID PLATOON

An Antoid Platoon typically consists of five to seven Fire Ants, each approximately the size of a man's fist. They are well armored and wield shields and spears that, while tiny, provide a formidable defense and offense against the antoid's foes. Operating through a shared hive mind, the Antoid Platoon is employed to defend Ant Miners, other workers, the colony, and its queen. They are also known to become aggressive when invaders encroach upon their homes and surrounding territory.

This is a very good low cost melee beast for you battle if you encounter a low mana battle. My suggest level for it is level 6 or 10 since you can get 1 extra attack via upgrading your card and utilize the stats while not costing too much in your battle. Plus, the scavenger ability is also somehow useful in certain conditions, such as LITTLE LEAGUE which only Monsters & Summoners that cost 4 Mana or less may be used in battles.

The Battle Rules

19 Mana Cost
ARMORED UP: All Monsters have 2 Armor in addition to their normal Armor stat.
MELEE MAYHEM: Melee attack Monsters can attack from any position.

My Team

It is a mid level mana battle for three elements and today my focus is exactly the dragon elements. So that I rent some dragons and some low cost water monsters. And this is exactly the battle what I am looking for. Kinda low cost mana battle with both dragon and fire elements. Usually, fire elements is always good for low mana battle since most melee beast are in fire team. So that I went for some tricks to utilize the rule-sets.

The Lineup

Summoner

The CAMILA SUNGAZER is a pretty useful dragon summoner that share the same use with ZINTAR MORTALIS in death element. But, the distinction between each other is that my CAMILA SUNGAZER gives me more freedom on picking elements due to the nature of dragon element while costing 3 mana cost for each. Reducing the melee damage is pretty useful in some times, however, I pick my CAMILA SUNGAZER as my summoner is purely based on the concern of mana cost in this battle. It is because that I expect my enemy will use some melee monsters.

Front Row

The VENARI HEATSMITH is sometimes useful if you have utilize the amplify and thrones ability with other monster that shares the same utilities. In the low mana battle, having 4 shields and 4 health by using 3 mana cost is definitely worth to be a mini front tank. Since it is the current edition reward card, my suggest level is that you should max out at least one copy of VENARI HEATSMITH.

Second

The CERBERUS is always a good melee tank with self-healing ability in fire element. For now, it is a beta edition card which is all minted long time ago, as a result, the cost of buying of renting is relative high comparing to other fire tanks. However, it is definitely worthy. Considering 4 mana cost, having 9 health and 4 attack is pretty cool and decent.

Third

The ANTOID PLATOON is a very good low cost melee beast for you battle if you encounter a low mana battle. My suggest level for it is level 6 or 10 since you can get 1 extra attack via upgrading your card and utilize the stats while not costing too much in your battle. Fourth

The ANT MINERS is the another version of ANTOID PLATOON that only cost half mana which is 2 mana. It shares the same use with ANTOID PLATOON that having the shield and scavenger ability, which enlarge its potentials in low mana battles.

Fifth

The KOBOLD MINER is also another good assassin in fire element that literally share the same use of SERPENTINE SPY. But, the difference is that the KOBOLD MINER has more HP so it is not that sensitive to the position in your line up. As a result, I put it as last spot to protect my team.

Last

The FLAME MONKEY is a good fire supportive monster that can repair the shield of your tanks. As a result, to max out your efficiency, level 5 or 10 is my suggest level to boost your team with additional buff. More importantly, it only cost 1 mana which means that the little monkey can fit into most situations as long as you have front tank with many shields.

Battle Result

This one was easy peasy since I just build up a good team combination with decent tank building and dps allocating in the battle. Under the MELEE MAYHEM rule set, having low mana melee monster with decent stats and abilities is a good choice to out play your enemy. Normally, I would not use that many melee monster since they can not attack until the first place which is totally a waste of mana of spots. Therefore, I just utilize the rule set and win the match.

Recap of reward card statistics

The collection speed of new version reward card is faster than what I expected since we just did approximately 8% of total bcx, which is almost 1/8 of old version of reward cards. Anyways, keep rockin and collect those sweet and powerful cards. Although the price suffers now, I do believe that you will regret not getting enough copies in the future once all cards are minted out.
