The developers of Ethereum 2.0 carried out the launch of the Spadina test network, conceived as the final before the release of zero phase update.
Spadina will work three days and, according to the developers, will be the "dress rehearsal" of the launch of Ethereum 2.0. It will allow the network deployment and deposit contract processes to be repeated. At the same time, the Medalla test network launched last month will continue to operate.
"The main objective is to give all of us another chance to conduct some of the most complex and risky parts of the process before we move to the main network. If all goes well, we are more than happy to be able to move on to actual implementation later this year," said earlier update coordinator Danny Ryan.
According to the portal beaconcha.in, by the time of publication in the network Spadina ended the zero era. The level of participation of validators is still estimated at 35%, which is significantly lower than expected. A similar situation was observed at the launch of Medalla, but later the network has stabilized. In total, Spadina has 2,856 validators that have contributed 91,392 test ETHs for stacking.
