I have seen many Hivers doing that in the name of promoting the platform. I guess it is okay to promote and I am wrong. :|

Yeah some are but many just sit there chit chatting. Instead of feeding Hive they prefer to give it to Elon (or to whomever owns Discord).
Yes, Twitter i somewhat understand. Discord is beyond my realm of knowledge. There are certain things that should be in the DMs but a lot can be brought in on threads/Hive
