Poker Update (It's Game Day)

in LeoFinance3 days ago (edited)

Today I'll be playing in a $150,000 Mystery Bounty. I won my way in through a series of tournaments. The end-game has multiple paths that lead to it. I played in a few different paths and managed to not only make it to the final but I am left with a spare $33 ticket for phase one. I'm not sure if the extra ticket will be converted to something else of $33 value or simply expire. I guess I will find out upon tournament completion when I contact the site reps. Phase two is the end-game. You have to place top 15% in phase one to get to phase 2 (the final). Currently I'm sitting in 15th place out of 499 players. There will likely be a surge of players qualifying today. I suspect 750+ with some of them garnering stacks larger than mine which currently sits at over 1.6 million. The chip leader has 2.4* million. How this tournament works is everyone who makes it to phase two has a mystery bounty on their head. The highest being worth $10,000 USD. A prize that largely outperforms final table finishes that are not first place. Most bounty's will be of min value but there are others in the thousand + range. This is only my second money tournament since returning to poker. The first was playing in the Sunday Million a couple weeks back (no luck in that one but there is always a next one).

As I mentioned in some of my previous posts I intend on creating some communities here on hive and the first will go live this month. Which will be a generic community and act as a testing ground to see if there is any interest in poker here on Hive. I been putting my research cap on and my brainstorming cap as well to see if I can up with something of interest. For now I'll putt along with trying to build a Bankroll from 0 deposits. I did check some of my old(ish) parnterships I had previously within the pokerworld but unfortunately allot of them have moved on or the sites I partnered with moved/ sold multiple times since my last contact with site owners/reps. There is still a couple of my old partners running under the same brand and ownership as they did some years back. I'm not sure if I'll start with them or something completely new. Either way Rentmoney is going to try and bring freeroll poker to Hive with the aim to put Fiat cash in your pocket. I'm no stranger to such things. I ran/ was admin and moderator at various poker forums in the past. Mingled with some poker site owners and been affiliated with many poker sites. I hosted hundreds of freeroll poker tournaments over the course of 3 years or more and I'm looking to do that again.

Above in our second screenshot you can see the current top 20 chip leaders. I am currently rank 16th with 1,668,664 chips. Blinds will start at 5000/10,000. This means I have 160 Big Blinds. Normally that would be allot and in this case its still a decent amount however we are playing a Turbo Tournament. What is a turbo tournament? It's a poker tournament where the blind level's increase faster than the standard 10 minute blind levels. This specific tournament blind levels increase every six minutes. If you take another look at that top 20 list you will notice there is a special icon next to a specific players name. The reason for that is that he is a professional poker player. Its likely there is more pros registered or will be registered before the tournament starts. Lets see how RentMoney stacks up against the field. Hopefully I get placed at a table where I'm the table chip leader so I can put some pressure on the short stacks and bounty hunt. Bounties are collected for each player eliminated. There is still some hours before the tournament starts but I'll update my success or lack there of in my next blog post. If content like this interest you don't forget to hit that follow button. Doing so puts @rentmoney's created content in your feed making it easier for you to find.

Congrats on making such a big event, and good luck in the upcoming rounds! Seems you're sitting in a nice position, let's hope you can scoop some bonuties too!

Love the idea of bringing more poker back to Hive, we used to run a small poker club via slothbuzz community you're more than welcome to use our community as a launching ground (or at the very least use #slothbuzz on the posts so people may see it)

Going to drop the tags of a few users who played in some of our events, and a special shout out to @pvmihalache and @caspermoeller89 who were highly invovled in the events, maybe they, or I could assist with your upcoming ventures, keep us posted!

Sorry Tag spam

@rentmoney
It's been a long while, but there's also the hivepoker community (I have the keys for that incl @the-dealer).
Kinda feels like I'm incapable of continuing the hivepoker community as the admin at the moment though. Unfortunately.

Thanks for the tag @slothlydoesit, I appreciate it 💯

I remember Hive Poker. I played a game or two on there.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Yeah... I really wish I could just put everything aside and get it running again!

If you play the Sunday million one day, can you ping me so I can spectate (or even play, if I'm lucky)? 😃

Thanks for the tag and good luck @rentmoney in the bounty tourny and any upcoming ones.

I have not played online poker for a few years apart from a few free to enter crypto ones.

I know @solymi loved his poker both on and offline. Please tag me if you decide to get something up and running.

As with many things on Hive, it is extremely difficult to garner any interest in things. Poker is massive and you would have thought we could have had more interest over the years. Mind you look at football/soccer biggest game in the world and it struggles for any attention.

Thanks on all fronts.

Once I'm further along with getting freerolls hosted I'll take you up on some of those offers.

I love poker, have been playing it on and off since the early 2000’s.
Just played the mystery bounty mini main event on win2day(official Austrian casino poker site) and finished 3rd with a deal scooping 286€ instead of 220. Also collected over 89€ in bounties.
Good luck to you in this big event! Lock in and scoop that thing!

Congrats on your 3rd place finish.

Double congrats on your deal netting you a higher pay jump.

thanks! How did your game go?

Collected a little in bounties + min cash for $101.
Lost two big pots that sealed my faith /10 10 vs AK and a nut flush draw vs two pair.

it is so crucial to win those flips, I hate it when it doesn‘t hold…

I love your project, I'll be there. I hope you receive a lot of support and that it's very profitable because if so, your success will be guaranteed. I'm in with you, my friend.

Thanks, good luck with your goals.

Good luck in the poker tournament

Thanks, much appreciated.

Strong performance against a massive field, clearly experience paying off.

The top 1 on the chip leaders must be very rich

Whenever something interesting like this comes up in games, the user is much happier that day, so I also try to play the games I like whenever I get time.

And I'm out. Collected one bounty and a small cash for $101.17. I was chip leader for a moment but collided with another stack in a flip .My 10/ 10 vs. their AK. Unfortunately my 10/10 didn't hold. I still had a decent amount of chips afterwards. Some hands later hit an A high flush draw on the flop. I checked it, other player 1/3rd the pot, I jammed. They also had a big stack of chips and called. They flopped two pair. I don't hit and lose another massive pot.

I played bad after that. I tried to isolate a player with 6 blinds but it didn't work out when the same player that hit two pair on me wakes up with AK and calls my all in. I also underplayed two other hands. But that's how it goes sometimes. Onto the next game. Bankroll now sits at $101.17 with no deposits.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with for Hive poker communities 👍
