My favorite ruleset is standard, because I often fail to notice the others until it's too late.
That's my favorite as well.
I been playing since it was possible to do so and I still sometimes don't look at the ruleset.
Being a newbie to Splinterlands, I can't cope with anything more than standard rule set. I am not familiar with the cards yet, although I have the basic idea of what to do lol but that timer is a pressure when you are trying to figure out what the different abilities are before you make your selections lol. This is a great introduction of active communities @rentmoney. Where you involved with the development of any of these communities?
Like a lot of people years ago I bought Steem Monsters and didn't touch them. Now they have grown. I tried some battles on Splinterlands but don't quite get it. I see some posts about RockStar and wonder if that is also Splinterlands.
I always tell those new to the Splinterlands game basic rule set is Mele in front, Range in the back and magic can go anywhere. Use something with high health in the front when possible.
I'm just a holder of the tokens. I think they are very useful so I advertise them in some of my posts.

My favorite rule set is low mana battles, cuz it forces me to rethink my strategies for each splinter and find new core teams for future strats.
I love the standard ruleset, however, the other day I was involved in a fight using the Equaliser and it was awesome, because I used a monster with 10 of Health and my adversary didn't pay attention to it, so it was an easy win only for that. With that being said, I had the misfortune to use other rulesets in which I have miscalculated the risks, used an inadequate monster or two for finally losing miserably.
My favorite rule set is the one that gives all monsters the blast ability because it's super chaotic
I love the poison ruleset. Needs some skill. The randomness of mana, active splinters and another ruleset adds to the fun.
