I think this illustrates how poor children are at predicting their needs for the future.
As a kid, I certainly never imagined that I’d spend much of my working life in front of a computer screen.
In elementary school (so 50+ years ago), one of my teachers said to look around the room. And that some day, maybe, just maybe, one of us in the room might get to use a computer. We scoffed at her.
There might still be one or two from that class scoffing :D
My father was forced into using computers for the first time in his 60s as a teacher in the early in the early 90s - it was a hard road, but he managed to get something accomplished. Must be very scary to be in that position.
