You know that feeling when it almost like you're the only person that does not know about something trendy and through which people are making life changing fortune. You feel uninformed, unoriented, and see yourself as an outcast...You see people around you making waves with almost all this "new world order" like Crypto, Web3, career in tech, and other online and digital programmes like coding, cyber security, coding, programming, web/app creation, etc. and you begin to wonder what is wrong with you and why can't you be like them too? That has always been my thoughts over the past few years.
In my native Yoruba language, we have a saying that, "ona Kan ko wo oja"...which translates to 'one road does not lead to the market'. Even if I'm already making a living with my Realtor work to some extent, there's always room for scaling higher and explore the possibilities that the new global order has presented me...not even when responsibilities from home and siblings begin to stare you in the face as a man in his late 20s. Also, the thoughts of living a financially stable life and gaining the right knowledge to be well on track to the improvement/advancement on "the new world order" that is yet to come are always all over my head. I just need to be well informed, be willing to learn, and be ready to connect with the right people. Like myself, I believe there are many people out there who share the same
thoughts and aspirations.
You open any of your social media apps, especially the X app formally known as (Twitter)...and stumble on a post about making money or a post of someone doing well for themselves, the next thing you would see under the comment session is "what do you do?" Most of the time you know what the response would be? Those practices and skills I termed "the new world order" earlier...Web 3, career in tech, Crypto, programming, coding, cyber security and the likes...the next sub-comment you would see is "teach me", "how do I go about it", "I want to lean". It now appears as if many people are having the same feeling of "being left behind" every now and then and want to join the moving train.
The pressure is on and no one wants to remain stagnant while watching others thrive. But the question is, would these set of people be committed and be willing to learn while also making sacrifices like people who have been making waves through those practices/skills?
I would like to redirect that question to myself! Well! I'm ready and willing to learn...and I believe YOU ARE TOO. You don't have to learn everything at a time...in fact, you can't! Just pick one or two and be committed to the learning...there will be a progress!
As a beginner, this platform can be a great help...thanks to the people that made Hive possible. You can join communities that discuss any of your preferred "new world order" and connect with people who are already doing well in any of the areas. You don't have to have all the resources required to begin learning...start with whatever you have now and scale higher as your learning progresses.
As for me, I have made it a personal challenge to equip myself with knowledge about those things(Crypto and web3) that particularly made me feel "left behind" and uninformed in this year 2025. The world is changing and we're already in the age of digital transformation and decentralization where you now have most of your finances at your fingertips with more individual control. I believe it's never too late to join "the new world order" as it will only get better from here.
Though it might sometimes feel like I should have learnt these things right from the beginning like some 17 years ago when we first heard of Bitcoin and buy some coin, but it's never too late! That's why I have taken it upon myself to grow with "the new world order" and not to have this "feeling of unbelonging" and being left behind ever again.
Also, there's the question of self-doubt where one begin to have this thought of not seeing oneself "doing this" or "capable of learning that"...false "sophisticated" thoughts like "I don't think I can understand it" "can I actually learn it", "this might be beyond what I can comprehend", and so on. One begin to see these things as "hard" practices/skills and therefore might not want to consider pursuing knowledge on them. I have been there! There was a time I always have this thought that I don't think I can ever understand coding and programming even if I enroll for a course or mentorship. Over time, I realized learning those "hard" practices/skills will change my life and propel the financial growth I so desired.
Those that are now vast in the knowledge of this new world order are once like you and began as a novice...In fact they had limited resources for learning that time but now, they're pros and are doing well in their respective fields or areas of focus. So YOU can! Let's embrace those assumed "hard" life or self-improvement endeavours/aspirations as no good thing comes easy.
Start that business today, start that podcast, enroll for that course, learn that trade, register at that gym, and be positive. There's is a saying by Chinua Achebe in his novel Arrow of God that goes thus, "In the end, it is not what we achieve that defines us, but the courage to pursue our dreams".
With dedication, commitment, and willingness to learn, I'm confident I will look back to the year 2025 in few years to come and wonder in awe how far I have come and how I have grown in the knowledge of "the new world order" and its finances.
