RE: LeoThread 2024-08-31 14:02

I am very new to InLeo and have only been on Hive two weeks. When I started using InLeo I was told it's ok to use threads to promote posts. I have done it a couple of times but somehow it doesn't feel right. It feels like vote grabbing.

It is. That also gets ignored and only develops you a reputation that you dont want.

Are you contributing? Are you out contributing?

If not, you are going to have problems.

Oh so as a nooby I am now getting mixed signals. Are you saying I should not promote my posts in threads?

We even have a curation program that search for posts promoted on Threads, it just has to be done following the instructions.

Putting yourself out there is ok. You have to get attention towards your content in one way or another. Anyone who says otherwise is being prudish towards reality.

The key is to actually engage in activities other than just pushing your own posts. That's what differentiates a user who is only interested in themselves versus being a part of a community.

It's good that you recognized this rather quickly. You already understand the value of engagement and this will make you more successful on Hive! #freecompliments

Hey, thanks for this comment, really appreciate it. So would you personally say its ok to promote posts in threads or not? I mean would you do it yourself or not?

Welcome to Hive and InLeo. That's very noble of you. Advertising is always fine, because Hive is a very big place and it's hard to be seen.
