As I see people online mock the Boomers (rightly so in my opinion) for not being able to change their worldview despite ample evidence they are wrong... I wonder if in 20 years I'll be in the same boat as a Gen X'er.

Sort:

Could be.

The problem for the boomers is that they spent their lives with things not changing at a great pace, especially the first wave of them.

GenX and beyond hasnt had that luxury (detriment?).

Every men is libertarian in his youth and conservative in his eldery

Well, the way things are going, I think so. The human brain appears to be devolving rather than evolving.

Isn't there hard evidence that IQ's have dropped steadily for the past 100 years?

If UR views 2day shifted from what they were in 2013/2003, there's a good chance they will have shifted by the time U R old enough 2tell unruly kids 2get-off your lawn. Adjusting views 2reflect reality is also what science is supposed 2do.

Science these days seems to only change depending on pronouncements from the Cathedral.

You & I believe in science, where scientific method is followed & hypotheses R tested against evidence. What U described is "science"; that's worse than accepting some flawed doctrine.

In God we trust; for all others, trust but verify.

Will I be living in an America in my head that no longer exists in the real world?
