How not to get scammed in 2022 using Binance P2P !!!!

First, let me start by saying technology is advancing everyday and online scammers a getting more equipped with advanced tools to scam people like you and me, so we have to be a lot smarter than them (know your onion), be more attentive, be more observant and go through the receipt of payment sent to you by someone who wants to buy a coin from you, because it could turn out that the person wants to scam you.

In the crypto community where I interact with other crypto traders, a friend from the community almost got scammed of $10k recently, which is 5.8 million in naira, that's a lot of money to lose at the beginning of the year.

The guy(summer) was so bold with the way he was demanding that his wallet address gets credited that he has already paid, In his mind, he has found who he is going to scam because he has sent fake alerts, receipts from his fake bank application, and videos which looked so real to indicating that he has paid my friend.

What he didn't know is that my friend took note of some errors in his fake bank app and has already alerted Binance through Appeal, so the scammer's account can be banned and blocked.

First of the 5.8 million naira was appearing in the credit alert section instead of the debit section, another mistake he made from the video he sent, you when you want to transfer money to someone, you have to select the bank then input the person's account number for the person name to pop up right? but in his video, he inputted both my friend's name and account him.

Where my friend held him in the balls was when he asked the scammer guy to send him the Session ID for the transaction, in case you don't know what Session ID means let me define it for you below:

The Session ID is a 30 digit number that is generated for some transfers once the transfer is successfully initiated. Where there is a session ID, the bank should be able to trace the transfers using the session IDs.

The scammer said his bank told him he is not eligible for Session ID, is that not funny to you, how would your bank tell you, you are not eligible for something that indicates your transaction was successful.

My friend then called him out to be a scammer and told him that if he doesn't cancel the trade his account will be banned and blocked. in less than 2mins he canceled the trade, so guys if you are reading this please be careful when doing a P2P transaction, there are scammers everywhere.

I haven't tried any other exchange app before.

I never knew of a session ID. This was indeed helpful.

I'm happy you know now and I'm glad my post was helpful.

I always make sure to check my bank app when I do p2p, if it doesn't reflect there I am not letting funds go, so many people are looking for ways to defraud others and it is sad.

What you do is really smart dear.

Thank you, pretty scared of getting scammed.

Me too dear, but as far as you are vigilant and take your time to go through the alerts properly you will be fine.

Everyone is not so educated and lucky as compared to your friend
But thanks for alerting us about the SCAMmeRs

My pleasure mate

I go as far as not only checking my bank app but transferring the funds to my other account before I confirm payment ☺️

These scammers can be really cunning, it may show in book balance and immediately removed after confirmation.
