We in bitcoin are a minority and as long as most have cash and how simple it is, I don't imagine it going away for a while yet. Too many people would lose their bitcoin keys.
It may not have been within our lifetimes (or we may have been babies when it happened), but within the last century people used gold & silver as circulating money. It can happen again. Or some other asset is chosen 2B D medium of exchange.
Just visit nearby village that has no internet access. lol.
I think it's actually quite hard to find a spot in Europe without internet access these days...
