Do they attack humans?
Not generally I don't think. I've run into them hiking in the woods and they usually just give me a look and then go on about their business. I suppose a pack or a sick one might be a different story.
They look like foxes, seems like a close relative to them. I think they usually prey on small animals like birds and hare.
Yeah, there are a lot of gophers in that field. While I was eating and getting my zoom lens on he pounced on a hole. Don't think he got anything though.
