More importantly than trying to bring people over from Twitter is to get active yourself on here. There is a lot of reason to thread.
Get yourself engaging on a daily basis and that is the most help to the platform.

It is the root of all that is being built. Yet to excel we need to get more activity going. That is our responsibility. If we bring in a ton from twitter and the site is dead, they will all leave.

Simply go to notifications and right click on the comments. That opens in a new tab and you can reply.
It adds a page view plus gives someone else a chance to reply.
It keeps growing.
