NFTs are becoming mainstream

Yesterday, when I was doing some shopping I came across an NFT Christmas tree. 20211219_174516.jpg

This was was a sign that NFTs are becoming mainstream, with public displays, not just in art galleries but in shopping centres.

It wasn't just art, it was an explanation of NFTs

The great thing about this display was it wasn't just art and Christmas decorations, it was educating the public about NFTs, what they are and how to buy them. This is what crypto needs to become mainstream, by tapping into people that have never used it before.

The one thing that has come out of the pandemic, is that the use of QR codes is now ubiquitous, with check-ins to most public facilities a daily part of our lives. This means its so easy to pop a QR code up on a sign like this so that people can explore the cryptos and NFTs in more depth.

What else is happening on NFTs

You probably don't need me to tell you that the NFT art scene can be big business. The record sale so far is for $69m USD, and cryptopunks made a massive splash on the ethereum blockchain.

whilst all the big bucks are happening on Ethereum, like it does with defi too, there are other platforms, like right here on hive.

Hive NFTs

You can buy art at NFT showroom https://nftshowroom.com/

Also many of you would have seen punks on hive you can check it out here https://punks.usehive.com/

Trading cards

Whilst Ethereum might be the king of NFTs for now, WAX is definitely the king of trading cards. You can explore 100s of different trading card sets on atomic hub. https://wax.atomichub.io/

blockchain games with NFTs

By far this is showing the msot promise. Many years ago, the only way to sell your items in games was through their own interface, with limited functionality or, maybe you were even forced to sell your own account to monetize your efforts in a game.

the world of NFTs, and cryptocurrency has transformed gaming, and its only just beginning, now you can sell and trade those hard earned game items. splinter lands has taken an early lead into this space, and no doubt their growing team will release bigger and better NFT games in the future, but NFT games are everywhere, EOS, WAX, ETH, Hive, just about anywhere you can create an NFT and there is honestly not enough time in the day to play them all.

NFTs in defi

when you think you exhausted all the ideas for NFT's along comes finance. autoshark as an example give you a boost in earnings you own their NFTs

crypto.com gives you a chance of a boost in the supercharger earnings just for purchasing any NFT on their platform. the merging of finance, art and gaming is all happening right under our eyes.

I have also heard NFT's can be used as a payment system, for example as like a receipt to buying a seat to a theatre performance, its the perfect way to ensure that you aren't getting a fake ticket when buying on the second hand market.

Take-aways

I am not talking about a take-away food, what I am talking about is what you can get from this article, and I guess the main thing is excitement about all the cool stuff that will happen in the NFT space, I am excited by NFTs going mainstream, and what that means for early adopters can only be a good thing.

I enjoy that crypto is becoming more widespread. I told a lady about Hive the other day and how I get paid in crypto. She said, "yeah, but can you buy anything with it?" I said, "Yeah, I spent $300 worth just the other day from it." She looked high and mighty at me like I didn't know what I was talking about... some will adapt, others will complain that no one ever told them and they were left behind... but were really too blind and too untrusting...

Question... how do I create an NFT? Is it just a simple as creating a graphic, like a jpeg and uploading it to a nft showroom?

Great story there will always be early adopters and others that are reluctant or slow.

As for creating nfts I have never done it on hive, I have only ever done it on wax with atomic hub, and it's easy as filling in a from with derails and uploading a jpeg to atomic hub.

Oh...that does sound easy...I'll have to create a jpeg worthy of purchasing, then... Thank you!

That is interesting.

Its nice to see anything crypto related being advertised.

Wow!
I think it’s fantastic that you saw this tree. I think it’s fabulous! This is how mass adoption takes place, gradual cultural adaptation.
Cool

I liked how they recommended to buy nfts for Christmas gift. We truw live in an amazing era.

I agree, and the ubiquity of the QR code will make crypto adoption easier.

QR code ubiquity
I just reread this post and I am wondering if anyone has used them as a signup tool, and if so how it worked for them. I think I will do a Google search. I agree that the ubiquity of the QR code will make crypto adoption easier. I even wonder if there is a way to harness it to provide NFTs to Leofinance sign ups?
Someones first NFT could be a free Leofinance NFT for signing up. It would be nice to couple that with a fiat onramp or link the websites and provide instructions in a post.

Merry Christmas @notak and Thank you for your support all year!
