They targeted the untapped markets in Africa, South Asia and Latin America. Stories coming out of those countries are not nice. Look at Sri Lanka port and how they collapsed when not able to repay the Chinese loan (and many other loans).
They are helping these regions create the much-needed infrastructure they need to grow. We can question their motive and quality of work, but how else would help? America would rather invest in destabilising these regions.
The devil lies in the detail. Be it the west or China, they have their ulterior motives- always. The countries need to buckle up and say no their intruding policies in whatever shape and form.

They've invested heavily in our country and surrounding Asian countries too.
More in our country especially in CPEC project which connects trade routes in subcontinent..

Yes, and they've done a lot for the continent. Far more than the West has in the last 400 years or so
hopefully the $$$ is getting to projects that will help every day people and not just the Elite
