So I have been doing this decentralized social media thing for quite some time now (four years maybe) and during this time frame, I have seen a lot of projects come and go (it is only natural in this space). Asides from the fact that a large percentage of us only care about our pocket and are only willing to support initiatives with the Best ROI, most of these projects amount to nothing because there is little or no push to grow outside this ecosystem.
Now the problem about being a local champion is that you never gain any real traction (both socially and financially) after the hype or buzz your project makes. I was talking to someone the other day on Twitter about hive and they claim to have never heard of the blockchain (I did find that insulting).
The implication of not being heard is that we are not dominating spaces that we should. I go on TikTok every now and then and i see some faux blockchain expert spewing trash, and it hurt. It hurts because i know a lot of people here who know their stuff and we could be dominating those spaces (for the betterment of our brands and the blockchain).
One thing Leofinance has been able to do that other projects haven't is to branch out. They've done that financially with their DeFi projects on other blockchains, and socially with their activities on other social platforms.
I know hive is all-compassing and we love our bubble but we need to branch out; we need to spread the word. I see the value in what leofinance is doing with their platform, which in my opinion makes it one of the best investment opinions.
I love the fact that the core team on leofinance are creative and innovative, willing to explore new terrains. It is my belief that they will get it right sooner or later (and by i mean scale), it is only a matter of time. Splinterland is the number one blockchain game today because its core team looked beyond hive and leofinance is doing just the same, and i hope we at hivenaija can do the same.
I saw leofinance recently created an account on TikTok and I thought it was a great move. I think this would help with exposure. Also, this shows that the leofinance team cares about reaching out to as many people as possible and they earn my support.
I also think they can leverage more on the Twitter space feature (which is something I plan to do as well) since a lot of people are into having conversations these days. There are numerous ways to put the word out there that we exist. The more we explore these channels the better our chances of gaining traction. Cheers!

The responsibility of getting seen belongs to the project, instead of being insulted wonder why so little effort goes into promotion and advertising.
I agree though, Leo is reaching out and working hard to improve visibility and it's why it's my favorite Hive project.

I think for the most part most of these projects do not have any real plan of scaling. Hive is enough for them but the sad thing is retention rates are poor and we keep losing people and having the same people at the top and it is not healthy for the ecosystem (in the long run).
Yeah, they are doing good creating awareness for their project and I believe it is going to pay off sooner or later.

The first time I came on Hive, I tried to do some research and get basic tips about Hive off the chain (google and YouTube). Lol.
I got close to NOTHING.
I wouldn't try, but even if I repeat the same thing now, the result won't be too different.
Twitter is a place where this journey of dominating can start and I see some good mentions of Hive related stuff over there.
With what Hivenaija is currently working on, we will see how the ripple effect would be on the community itself and Hive at large.
Sometimes I think people don't want to talk about hive because they fear other people will join and shorten their portion of the reward pool or something. It is a wild thought but i believe it sometimes and the things that take precedence over creating awareness are kind of silly sometimes.
In the case of hive naija, I just need to see more dedication from the community member. At this point, I just need like 10-20 people to achieve the things I have envisioned for the community
I find this post useful, as you have said, many people do not know about this platform, while some know but find it unbelieving on how it works.
This is why we should support projects that are pushing past the huve boundaries, creating exposure for their project and give as well.
Thanks for stopping by. Cheers!
