Thinking the end was near, I dumped my LEO before the fork we now call Hive. "Not really a fan of crypto/finance content anyway," I thought, so never bought back in.
Threads can be fun. How much LEO do I need to get a vote worth $0.05?

Threads might just be the thing that keeps this place active. Plus, most people using leothread don't really care about upvotes, which is a good thing if you ask me.
I don't expect anything and noticed people rarely vote here early on (stake is either nonexistent or delegated away anyway), but my time on social media is still valuable to me, so I vote, to make up for it.
I agree. I don't think users expect upvotes on threads. Added benefit for sure.
Not sure. Many $LEO I guess. With 25 K LP, i give 0.759 Leo at 100% voting when the VP is at 83%. That means at 100% it can be 1 Leo. That's roughly at 5 cents.
Stake 25K and you will be able to give 5 cents upvote at 100%
I see. Downside is fact I wouldn't be able to vote at 100% with so much HP backing it up. Setting up alt accounts and micromanaging my life to death is out of the question as well. Social media like this meant to be quick and easy.
I did not realize you have almost 100k HP. One way to master this would be to exclusively engage on Leofinance and only vote leofinance post. Or, use the vote weight multiplier tool the leodex has to make sure you are not draining HP. Don't ask me the mechanics of vote weight multiplier :P

I would never pack myself into such a small box though. I like the freedom and flexibility to bounce around and do whatever. If I post for instance, most of my voting power that day would go to all those people commenting. HP is universal so I can support community members and not even be part of the tribe. That's cool as well. Seriously can't be bothered with all that technical shit, trying to find the sweet spot. Not a maximizer at all.
You can also vote at 2% to 5% on threads.
Right, but 25000k at 5 or even 10% isn't yielding my preferred outcome.
:) 25000K is not 25K. But I know what you mean. You need at least 100K LP to give 10% vote for 20 cents at 100% voting power. My suggestion (if I may) would be to power up 50K first and then see how it goes.
Hey. I'm allowed one typo LOL!
I think if I see Threads at some point tied in to my actual following on Hive, so they can see my Threads, purchasing stake for this purpose would be more appealing. Possible PeakD could offer similar.
I agree. The simple math would support buying. $LEO is 5 cents. The previous ATH was $1. If it reaches 50% of the previous ATH, the price is at 50 cents which is 10X from now.
get or give?
Give, of course.
Get i beleive
anyone got a leo calculator
Poor wording. I should have said "to have a vote worth .05"
Make it $0.10. That way I'm giving 5 and getting 5 (is LEO 50/50?)
im still trying to figure out how to get my .02 cents in .
Easiest way to make money using majority of Hive social platforms is to have stake first, then vote for the content you're consuming, including comments you're reading while having a conversation.
easier said than done soon, my only #hive onramp is going away , thanks #bittrex
Hopefully just another bump in the road, rather than another brick in the wall.
