Hey experts!

I just noticed a noob exhausted their RC (resource credits) so I'd like to delegate some RC. How many billions should I give them? What's a number that'll allow them to keep busy but not too much or too little?

Sort:

I usually do 100-150 billion. That should work in most instances. A couple times I had to add some more.

Okay. I'll go with 150. They have a large payout coming in 7 days and a top trending post but now can't even respond to comments so I feel like this is a good time to step in and help. Thanks dude!

Here's an "RC menu", just switch from nodes to RC view. However, delegating like 10 HP should be sufficient for any real user. 150 HP could keep a spambot !rewarding you with all those virtual beers, wines, joints and so forever.

I don't want to delegate HP. That's a waste of my HP and they should be either buying that or earning it. I delegated 150 billion RC, and kept my HP. I have no clue why people are still delegating HP for these purposes.

I actually do that occasionally. It feels good when you can earn a little bit of curation rewards and hooks you to the ecosystem. Besided, as I believe, it is the purpose of HP. Just about 100 HP works for that. True, I usually delegate that to my fellow-countrymen that blog in Czech and have no ambition to go international.

More productive feedback loop is to keep your HP and vote for them so they earn. That way you're able to provide what they earn without decreasing what you give. End result is still them being able to earn curation rewards, eventually.

Yep, but that takes a week :) Many people are not that patient ;) Besides, I don't really mind sharing a bit of my HP, however stupid it is.

10k scattered HP isn't as effective as 10k contained HP. Take Leo.voter outgoing HP delegations as example. Look how many of those accounts aren't even active. Wasted HP.

do you have any data to back this claim?

Genuinely curious because we have a script that undelegates based on activity

So if you’re making a factual claim, I would look into it

Not saying it's stupid. If I delegate 100 to 100, all I've done is decreased my vote value and theirs are still hardly effective. Meanwhile RC sits there collecting dust. With that they can comment/post more, potentially earn more. #math

This individual already has a 15HP delegation and burned through the available RC in no time. Roughly 30 billion.

That's for my alt account (@actifit-godfish) with 100 delegated HP and like 40 own HP. I only use it to post Actifit reports; besides it follows my voting. It's basically unlimited:
