It's interesting how one can point at a mass of people and show them how much power they have. Yet they've grown accustomed to never having it, so instead of seeing it, they'll come up with every possible excuse to avoid looking.

Sort:

Stockholm Syndrome maybe?

Beaten to the point where they cant turn away from their captivity.

I'm not an expert on these things. Maybe that. Cognitive dissonance. A combination of all things and thousands of years worth of programming to the point even thoughts become genetic? I dunno.

People will catch on, gradually.

The mindset of the masses never ceases to amaze. People will habitually throw up excuses as to why they cannot succeed.

Most abhor responsibility and if their excuses are removed, it falls to them.

It is a rather odd situation and, appears, to be part of the human condition.

A natural state of being. We've all been there on some level before. I didn't even know how to process a decentralized environment when I first arrived. Slowly but surely things started to click naturally. Same story for many here I bet.

Not sure if they will ever see the real power. It is not easy to see how powerful one is. It is like not seeing the matrix we are in. literally and figuratively.

Maybe people are afraid they'll trip.

I do not think so. I think people are short sighted and looking at the low hanging benefits that comes in the form of fiat and not looking at the ownership of the content they are creating - the data mine for the next digital world.

I can only guess. Feeling my way around in the dark just like everyone else. Same planet spinning around the same sun. Same opportunities as anyone else. And we all know tomorrow is coming. But everyone lives their own day.

guesses are 👍

LOL that's just a fancy way of saying I can't pretend to know what makes people tick. Some days I don't even know how I'm ticking lol

They all have to care and to near an equal degree. That'll rarely if ever happen. So, your point falls short, because it doesn't take into account individual psychology.

Not caring is part of individual psychology. The natural flow; balance. Some care, some don't. Because some don't care doesn't mean they all don't care. Perhaps some don't care due to feeling powerless. This shows they aren't. #motivation

And, is all of that HP active outside of autovoting or even active at all?

What it's being used for isn't the point. For example, you can't autovote a proposal. Perhaps some don't participate due to feeling powerless. This again shows they aren't. Some are active, some aren't. Doesn't hurt to encourage activity.

Also, someone not voting for a proposal is still participating in the decision making.

Immoral people will always choose the anti hero timeline.

You think that's what's happening in this scenario? I'm not so sure.

Whenever I encountered deep resentment in myself and chose to behave immoral, I felt that way.

I think it's more of a situation involving society or one not knowing their own strength, a hint of refusing responsibility, and a dash of something unfamiliar. When reality goes against the programming and contradicts their myths.

The Myths, the stories that run our head space. I got some of those for sure.

They want to hold on to their stories just a little longer and try to find new ways to tell them, so they don't have to change.

People will only believe what they want to believe, it is outright amazing to me.

I had the wildest experiences with people destroying their own life, because they refused to accept the reality unfolding in front of their eyes. Maybe we are a lot more like the LLMs, constantly trying to figure out what parts of the world are only an hallucination.

We've all been there I think. That mindblowing feeling when you learn something new. I'm sure we've all had moments in life that have been hard to accept. Right here and now, I can't pretend to have the answers. It's puzzling and that's ok.

I can remember traumatic experiences and this dull longing to lay down and wake up in a different world later. 'Because it can not be true. I do not know how to continue from here.'

What is the threshold to get there for each and everyone of us and what are the nuances on the way there?

Give society power in a decentralized arena and they'll use that power to disempower themselves.
