I know this is a markdown editor, but maybe you can add a validation to do not count the images links characters in a #threads. This highly reduces the text length.

Yes we are working on this. We're creating a separate word counter for links / images that will be live soon
Cool, maybe a js validation to recognize a link and reject it from the char counter could work.
