1/🧵Some in superstitions I grew up with as a Nigerian

All cultures have their different superstition they believe in. One of the superstitions I grew up with is : DO NOT STEP OVER A PREGNANT WOMAN'S LEG. our culture believe that if you do, the baby will be born looking like you instead of the parents. Also, it is believed that the baby will be born in form of dwarfism

Do not sweep at night, if you do, you will sweep away your family wealth.

another familiar one😂. but instead, we were told that we would be attracting ghosts if we sweep at night.

Haha 😂
I guess different culture with different interpretations of it

i guess so too

If you whistle after dark, you are in a danger of summoning up bad spirit, haha..how weird 😃

Exactly! How does this even work? Till today, i dont whistle at night🤐

Haha 😆😂
No idea babe
I don't believe all that

Haha. I totally remember this one. My Mom is Igbo so she told me a lot of these superstitions as a child. Especially the sweeping and whistling one.

hehe, I find them weird and unbelievable
What a culture

This sounds very familiar. But in my culture, it applies to everyone. You step over anyone and they automatically stop growing tall.

If this superstition was true, i would have been only a few inches tall😄

Except for the first one I am well known for remaining superstitions and those superstitions still exist in my region. Those are indeed funny and make me laugh sometimes.

Really... wow, Interesting that you are conversant with some
It's funny 🤣 and weird
Lol

hehe. I think most of the superstations are funny but some can be horrific also and may cost the life of someone.

In Brazil we have about if a pregnant woman doesn't satisfy her desires during the pregnancy the child will be born with some marks on the skin lol. My firstborn has a birthmark in her arm and my mother in law keeps complaining that it is my fault that I didn't satisfy my wife's eating desires during her pregnancy lol

But wait, do you believe that? Haha 😆😆😂

Me? never hehehe I am the most skeptical guy around here xD

Haha 😆😆😂
