Community is the key.

Listening to the Charlie Shrem podcast with @starkerz.

This podcast came out yesterday. It's an in depth Interview about the capabilities of web3, hive and POS.

You can listen to it here,

https://castamatic.com/+RGpwv1WV/

And it's well worth a listen.

If you don't have the time or the interest to listen to the full hour I will give you my paragraph overview.

  • Web3 is the way forward.
  • Decentralized communities will be outside the current regulatory system.
  • The community will moderate the actions of its users.
  • Community trumps companies.
  • Hive was formed on the basis of the community making a choice and willing to break away to a separate project with the same core as the old project.
  • Community is layer zero for any project.
  • Hive has no pre-mine and a large spread of holders and fair distribution.
  • There is no central point of attack.
  • Hive is now self owned and incentivized to build more.

None of this happens without the community to drive it forwards.

We can all see the progress on Hive over the past couple of years.

All of the new tools and apps that have come online over the months driven by growing teams of dev and workers. The good part of this is we are seeing these projects coming from all different angles.

It's not one core group that is driving everything, they seem to be fully focused on scaling for the moment. The development is being driven by the different projects. Each one is adding something new to the eco-system and while their is some synergy to what is being developed. Most of them are focused on completely different things.

Aggroed is focused on splinterlands and tribes. Nft showroom is delving into the nft and art world. Khal is focused on the writing and investment side. Other groups are running tribes. Others are building tools. Others are building games.

Do you see the common trend here?

People are very busy. Either building or running something. Community projects all merging together on the same chain adding to the whole pot.

Over time i can see the community splintering further and further apart as these projects keep getting bigger and require more time to be a part of. I know that a year ago my attention could cover the whole chain and some projects on other chains.

These days i can barely keep up with my blogging and gaming on the chain, never mind see everything that is happening in the dark corners. That is the direction in which we are heading.

The community is driving everything going on with Hive. We have no central authority, no big investors and no single point of control.

The system isn't perfect but it is certainly improving every month. I know that we have seen plenty people give out and sell up but they will regret it in the end.

We have too many good things here to be focused on the few issues that go alongside them. If you are new to Hive, my best advice is to engage and be active.

You will see and learn so much from being here. If you can keep going long enough, you will find a place to create your personal brand and have a safe haven on the internet.

Very exciting times to be here, indeed.

I find myself very surprised by how much activity I am missing out on and I feel like I really was an insider here. Now that is not the case at all. It really seems like so many of the pieces are all just beginning to fall into place. We have no idea what the ceiling might be or how this platform will be used.

I think people will come along and show us all sorts of new ways to use Hive that we haven't seen yet. That, imo, is the real gem here; this is an extremely flexible and practical platform that can be moulded to all sorts of uses.

The beauty of a decentralized system with lots of open source projects. Even from the last bull run of 2017, yabamatt and khal were two people that turned up along the way. Look what they have build in the past couple of years.

Who knows what can be done yet on the chain when new people come along with new ideas. I cant wait to see what comes next on top of the work done to date. We will see a lot more, that's for sure.

Yup. I'm stoked to be back at it and look forward to seeing the sights.

Very true, a lot of things are happening because of the community. Hive owners are confident to do something beneficial because they're confident that their works or accomplishments can't be taken away by manipulating them. Yes, it's because of the community.

It's great to be a part of something as revolutionary as this. A system where we own a share fo the eco-system and can earn more by participating in it. One where we are safe in our accounts and dont have to worry about it all going away.

I think what sets hive a part is that point where there is no central entity owning it. This means that we own it and I think it's a different thing to build on such a basis rather than somewhere where a company can shadow ban you or kick you out entirely. Hive has a very appropriate name it's taming with energy and activity, everybody building on their own but all together within one framework and everything that is build adds value to this framework...

The longer that i spend in the eco-system and the more that i see getting built. The more excited that i get. It's slow going but when you look back along the timeline it hasn't been that long. A year is nothing in development terms and yet we are in a totally different place to one year ago.

That is what we need to focus on rather than waiting expectantly .Until then we have plenty to keep busy with and stack hive for future pumps.

Great summary.

There is a lot going on for Hive, more than people think. A guy like Shrem is an old time Bitcoiner. He is someone who can generate some excitement.

For now, we just keep on building to fill in the holes in our infrastructure and system.

He is also old school STEEM which is also the case for a lot of the crypto world as it was such an early project and so innovative at the time.

That could be a big plus going forward and attract people back to the community when the see how it has evolved since that time and starting to live up to the early potential.

That was a great interview and seems to have gotten some attention as he has a strong voice in the bitcoin/crypto community.

There is just too much going on HIVE that we can't be everywhere. I am just keeping up with what I find on LeoFinance and gaming myself. So I don't think I have much room to spread out even further.

I look forward to turnkey front ends, like they mentioned.

Been looking forward to that development for a while. Turnkey communities and websites that we can buy and moderate ourselves.

Shouldn't be too far away.

I really appreciate this and keep up the good work
