They have evolved into a full information outlet.
Since becoming admin of the @coingecko community I have taken the time to do a lot more browsing of the Coingecko website.
Over the past couple of years they have gone from being a website for tracking prices to a full on information hub for crypto.
- Portfolio Tracker.
The best feature for myself is obviously the portfolio tracker which I have set as a book mark to follow my investments. You can see my favorites here in one handy list with all relevant information when you click in further to them.
- Cryptocurrencies.
Want to know anything about the token market, then this is the page to check out.
- Marketcap
- new cryptocurrencies
- categories
- watchlists
- gainers losers
- high volume
- all cryptocurrencies
- compare cryptocurrencies
It's the starting point for all of your research and there are lots of ways to divide and sort out what tokens are worth looking at and which ones aren't. All of the information is there to be found.
- Exchanges.
You can get a lot of information on the different exchanges from the website which are organized by Trust score and have all the trading information on the next tab.
The main contenders are Binance, Coinbase, and OKX which wouldn't be at the top of my list but are the most established exchanges.
- NFt's
This is a recently added section and one for the NFT enthusiasts.
Looking to find the next gem or nft moonshot. Personally I'm not but a lot of people like to try and do these things.
You could have bought into Joker Charlie Club Genesis or what ever the latest shit show is and gone up 315% in the past 24 hours with a floor price of 1.85 ETH.
There is lots of information in this section for people with an interest in these collections.
- Learn Crypto.
This is a big one for newer users that are starting to explore the crypto world. IT's great to see practical resources provided to help them get started and avoid a lot of the simple starting mistakes.

I think that there is a lot of good articles here to get started and form a team with working knowledge of the crypto eco-systems they are going to be very helpful to a lot of people.
@coingecko really is the place to go for your token information.

Yeah. I like the Portfolio tracker as well. I must admit I check it nothing less than 5 times a day.
Such a cool platform, it also has a lot of content yet not as clunky as CMC.

I use the portfolio for coins I am watching and it works well. The part that most services are missing is an easy way to find out where lesser coins are listed as well as where to get a wallet to store the tokens. A list of exchanges is great but I have to go to each and sign up only to find that the coin I was researching is not there. Then I have to find the site in order to get a wallet. The process is exhausting.
An internet search for "where to buy" + xyz turns up many results with lists of exchanges that supposedly offer xyz, but again, none have it. They end up being affiliate links searching for a click.
If anyone gets the bright idea to put a "where to buy" button that works inside the page that shows coin info and price charts, that would replace all other coin market sites.

I am not too sure I like the NFT section. I don't really see much value in the NFTs and most of them are things promoted by social media influencers.
