Yes that's even more reason to focus more resources in that particular area. This is not a problem unique to just hive or cryptocurrency. Marketing requires skills, budget, strategy and target area. Major successful products have committed upwards to 50% of their annual revenues on marketing.
You'd look on the Dao spotting one marketing project was like seeing a unicorn. That's not being serious about addressing the 800lb guerilla in the room. The hive community came from steem whom built everything known to man. They built reddit applications, twitter applications. youtube applications. soundcloud applications instagram applications. I mean they built about everything you could imagine The apps still had low activity and use and still have today.
If you ask someone on the street if they have heard of btc. They probably will say yes. Hive they'd have absolutely no idea although it's mostly known for social media. This you build it and it will come mentality" . the chosen application will work ' catch the sword of damascles.. i don't see the results of that as of yet.
So my point is always has been. Marketing is very very long overdue and being the major issue its been should have been worked on a long time ago. Most major successful projects have incentivize referral programs. You need to figure out how to do that is my opinion. So maybe now seeing that every other proposal really hasn't added much of anything to this network They will now address what needs to be done.
