In Nigeria, the igbo tribe calls this ofe egusi, and this mostly eaten by Igbos with hand, despite that it is an Igbo delicacy, other tribes still eats it, I ate some just now.

if you haven't tried this soup, try a have some because it contains many nutritional value. Which makes it my favorite.
I think most tribes eat egusi, I think it most with either pounded yam or tuwo rice
I thought every tribe in Nigeria eats this soup 😅 and of course, with hands. It would be too weird to watch someone eat this with a spoon 😂
It's preferable eating with hand, although some now eats swallow even with fork.
I am currently staying in Benin City I found out that Benin people's main cultural soup is Egusi I thought all my life that my tribe(igbo) was the original owner of this soup.
