RE: Why is it Hard for Newbies to Get Upvotes?

in LeoFinancelast year

enjoyable read! But thought I'd add my own thoughts:

Ultimately, something I've always pointed out, is that the vast majority of people hate blogging. And dislike reading even more.

The monetary incentive here naturally brings people who make themselves believe it's something they enjoy, but they don't. Blogging was never a mainstream activity and when it becomes big, it invariably leads to people basically falling into ecommerce or some kind of product selling. Look at Medium nowadays, it's 99% chatGPT content and circle jerks to get around the algorithm to maximize profits. The content is utter trash. 80% of it is 'how to get money on medium' followed by the same points you bring up here.

Simply put, if you don't enjoy blogging for the sake of blogging, you aren't gonna get anywhere. If you do, then the above points you lay out will come naturally, I reckon

Thank you for your awesome inputs and I agree, people won't last long if they do not enjoy creating long content.

I quite agree that not many people like to read let alone write long-form content or blogs. But the stats show that the numbers are increasing, of content being created and comments being made. Perhaps the rewards have something to do with that or people might be making Hive their social media.

We do hope Hive content creators won't succumb into putting out utterly trash content because that would truly be saddening.

I do like the short-form or microblogging feature called Threads in LeoFinance where users can interact with others easily and quickly without having to read hundreds of words :)

Yeah I'm just finding out about threads and ecency's version i think called 'waves'? Cool idea!

Yes, Ecency Waves is cool too. It is nice that these features exist.
