The conversation on Web 3.0 - Ignorance, Lies and Agendas

in LeoFinance3 years ago (edited)

Self acclaimed proponents of decentralization changing mouth when their favorite projects are called out. Funny isn’t it? Decentralization is so simple as a term but very difficult to achieve. Definitely, everything starts from a point and this makes decentralization hard from scratch.

The buzz word has been Web 3.0, Jacks latest take on it through Twitter is that Web 3.0 at the moment is a pipe dream and not different from Web 2.0 that is centralized, ran by V.C’s and LP’s with single point of failure.

This is a typical overview of Jacks idea of what Web 3.0 entails and quite rightly so, it’s safe to say that Bitcoin has the most decentralized system came about as results of several circumstances in the lifetime of the project including the anonymity of Satoshi Nakamoto. Using Bitcoins decentralization as yardstick, none of the applications majorly peddled off as Web 3.0 really is Web 3.0.

Most are either riddled with Pre-mines, are centralized, ran by V.C’s or LP’s and have several points of failure. The only truly decentralized system beside Bitcoin and that encapsulates the idea of what Web 3.0 entails is Hive. It’s baffling how ETH maxis are the loudest when it comes to topics about Web 3.0.

Hive has No VC’s or LP’s, decentralization is automatically continuous through its inbuilt token distribution model, points of failure have been eliminated to the maximum levels, premine/founder stake has been forked into DHF that funds the DAO, Hive has no central authority.

Hot take. ETH is said to be centralized due to its 70% Pre mines and quite rightly so, however, It’s interesting how ETH maxis want to deliberately turn a blind eye to this fact when it in fact is a major contribution to centralization of ETH.

Yet ETH maxis are the loudest when it comes to talking about Web 3.0. How? Can someone make it make sense!

No system is decentralized from scratch as everything mostly start from one point, however on the course of the project’s life cycle, levels of decentralization can be achieved if the foundation of the system is designed to be decentralized. Hive has been able to achieve a very high level of decentralization by eliminating the founders stake.

What’s even more interesting to me is how there is no mention of Hive by the so called big names in the tech/crypto industry in the hundreds of replies under Jacks tweet. Do they still not know? Is this a show of deliberate ignorance? Is there an agenda?

Like I’ll always say, Web 3.0 is a collection of activities over the internet that make up the entire experience and not fulfilled by just one application, so it’s not about being a Hive maxi, it’s just that the best of which is presently available in conjunction with the idea of what Web 3.0 entails is on Hive.

The narrative most people are getting from this debacle is that Web 3.0 is still out of reach whereas Hive owners beg to differ. It seems to me like only Hive users can relate to what Web 3.0 entails.

While the tech world has been scratching their head and VC’s been hunting for next buzzy projects to chump on, I’ve just been crossing my legs watching it all play out. At some point some or one of these loud mouths will drop their ego and recognize Hive for what it is.

It only goes on to show how early we are in all this. The goal is that the highest level of decentralization should hopefully be the standard as we go forward, this is why there has to be emphasis on the projects that we should embrace that they make the sacrifices needed to ensure that they build high level decentralized tools that will help advance the growth of humanity.

So if Jack is calling it out, I’m with it, what I’m not with is acting to be a knowledgeable personality within the space and then ignore the solutions available because you weren’t the solution.

If Hive is not decentralized and perhaps doesn’t fit as Web 3.0, why not call it out as so, like did ETH and show the world how ignorant he really is I challenge him.

Jack paddywhack is a twatsickle, I can't wait for web5 they will all suck it :P

Web 5 lmao. Please don’t let’s get started on that we are barely started with 3.

Like what I commented before, These people's ego are hurt to the point they won't just swallow it and let "good" shine. But no matter how, Hive is still going to the moon, Billionaires PR or not.

At some point Hive will be in the conversation, they will throw all they can at it to keep it down that’s why all of us here should be grounded with the knowledge of Hive. They will come eventually

Supported 💯

Really, any decentralized initiative can be bought into - once popular - with $billions at the disposal of current world powers. All a matter of paying attention to money movement. ETH fees keep small entities out of power, and as soon as another market springs up to prominance the money will move there. More liquidity = more mining rigs and staking for any currency. Then taxation will follow. Web3 initiates which empower small-medium size businesses and individuals with moral aptitude to empower others financially is where change occurs. How do we achieve? Decentralization is a great start. I think we need to further this idea collectively and educate the masses to benefit as many people as possible. Maybe AI is the solution. Thoughts?

Interesting perspective of Web 3.0. I especially like how there are many different perspectives but same meaning. It’s as if it’s decentralization that matters most to a fully self sovereign community, it means decentralization is super important to freedom. I fear that too many people are used to being conditioned to live in a spectrum of little to no freedom and be fine with it. “You will own nothing and you will be happy”,

So many people have been conditioned to living as slaves and be cool with it, they think it’s safer and for several other reasons. Suddenly it has come to seem that those who are fighting for freedom are now the bad guys going against the establishment, Whereas are the true heroes. And the ones the popping up all over the media, “influencing” while doing the bare minimum, posing as professors of the new age, lol, proponents of true decentralization are in dip shit in my opinion, these faux decentralization profs are kicking them in the ass.

I’m not sure what role AI will play in this,

Web 3.0 is a process more than an overnight conversion. The totality is moving in that direction but there are few single entities that cover it all. Even Hive does not go to the degree where it is 100% "decentralized". That said, we are moving in that direction on a regular basis.

Ultimately, the VCs and users will clash and this is where applications on something like Hive can enter the picture. Without the VC funding, a game like Ragnarok is not going to have to monetize everything.

Here we see how open source is going to win.

Jack is a moron and Musk a clown. These people fighting on twitter(WEB2) over something they haven't had a taste of is simply pathetic.

I thought they are supposed to be well researched and knowledgeable. Most of them are just pathetic

I can personally vouch for the decentralization of Hive, as I run a Hive-Engine Witness Node. There are over 30 of us currently and I suspect that number to grow in the next year as well.
Most of our nodes are located in Europe and the USA so I place one in Asia, I am basically halfway in between Eastern Europe and the Western USA.

Awesome! That’s something I hope to do at some point in time as well. I know for a fact that more people are going to keep spinning up witness nodes for Hive in few years to come, as more of the users now become savvy over time.

I’m really looking forward to getting in on this too

Let me know if you have any questions when the time comes 😀
