Battling with Helheim Demon: A Showdown in the Earthquake Ruleset

in LeoFinance8 months ago

If the earth is shaking underneath, then take it to the skies. This is the tactics I deployed when battling in the Earthquake ruleset.

Have you heard about the Earthquake ruleset in Splinterlands? In this particular ruleset, units suffer 2 damage every round unless they possess the flying ability. For my opponent to win in this battle, they need to concentrate on taking out the main unit - the Helheim Demon - which boasts impressive health and magical attack power, as well as the precious ability to fly. Keep in mind that this remarkable unit requires a massive 10 mana to deploy so use him at your own risk.

This Week's Theme is...

Earthquake

Non-flying Units take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round.

Earthquake is a persistent form of damage that occurs every round, and if one is unprepared, they will surely be defeated by this phenomenon.

Battle Factors

Mana: 15
Active Elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Life, Death, Dragon

|| Non-flying Units take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round.
  • At first glance, the Earthquake ruleset can seem quite complicated and worrisome. After taking some time to play with it, one can become an expert to its specifics and ultimately utilize it to their benefit.

    Round 1:

By end of Round 1, my Carrion Shade gets pierced by Chaos Orc. But this is quite alright really. I was expecting the Carrion Shade to meet its end. After all, it's only a one-off defense for the Helheim demon, isn't it?

    Round 3:

By end of Round 3, Chaos Orc gets crushed by Earthquake while Tenyii Striker gets decimated by Helheim Demon's magic attack. Earthquake caused some damage to them, but my team remained safe thanks to their Flying ability.

    Lineup and Strategy

Because of the ruleset Earthquake, I was planning to overcome the Earthquake ruleset's damage by using a more Flying units in this battle. In fact, I was considering using several low-cost Flying units but I decided instead to try out Helheim Demon. I must say, things went much better than I anticipated.

    || All enemy Monsters have -1 Magic attack.
    || All enemy Monsters have -1 Health.

Why pick this summoner: He is a good option in general for the Death element.

Why pick this unit: After completing this battle, I came to the realization that if one were to level up Carrion Shade to level 3 and Thaddius Brood at level 2, they would be granted the always-handy Flying ability to a 1 mana unit that proves highly advantageous when battling in the Earthquake ruleset.

    || Has a 25% bonus chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Units who do not have the flying ability.
    || All enemy Units target this Unit (if they are able to).

Why pick this unit: He is the main unit for this battle. He has Flying ability to counter the Earthquake ruleset, coupled with its overwhelming health and magical damage capabilities, this unit is truly a formidable force to be reckoned with.

    Summary

The Earthquake ruleset in Splinterlands causes units to sustain damage each round unless they have the flying ability. As a result, players often focus on this ability such as, Helheim Demon, which boasts high health and magic damage, that allows it to escape the rule's devastating attacks. It's an intimidating ruleset at first, but with enough practice and experimentation with different units, you can overcome that difficulty.
