I'm not sure why the ETH gas price was that low. I think earlier in 2022 it was as low as 4 GWei, but I'm not sure.

I thought it was due partly to the Berlin Upgrade as well as the transition to PoS that's in progress. Bull market or bear market, transactions which have to be made have their cost.

On the bright side, small Gwei together with small ETH price make for small Gas Price.
