During the years since 1986 when the Mets were good, they were like LeBron James: occasionally giving people doubts about him. Instead, the 2024 Mets need to be more like Kobe Bryant ("Son of MJ"). Kobe & MJ were just stone-cold.

As a Mets I finally feel that a foundation is being established for future seasons of winning baseball. This year was a wash and it wasn’t expected so to be pumped about it is an understatement. It’s a lot to ask but it would be nice to get into and go far into the postseason.
1st thing's 1st: put the hurt on the Atlanta Braves. No matter how the Mets finish the 2024 season, they need to put the hurt on the Braves. Then they need to make the Braves pay for all the heartbreak they caused them during the Cox Era.
It won’t be easy but it would be a nice way to make this current run truly legit.
If it makes you feel better, I don't see the NYY getting World Series ring Number 28 until mid-2030s at least. I'm just not seeing the leadership & intangibles both among the stars and the journeymen players. 15 seasons and counting....
They look tough so I wouldn’t be surprised if they go far into the postseason and if they get way far it will be hard to bet against them.
