We Are Allergic to Just About Everything Down Here!
My sister-in-law Annette was an animal lover.
She had four cats that were put into foster care before we got down here.
We arrived here last Sunday night and just stayed in a hotel near the airport where we ended up staying for the entire trip.
It was dark when we got here and didn't want to drive to her house at night not knowing if the cats were still there or not.
When we went to the house this last Monday we thought we would be able to stay there for more than half of this trip.
Not so much. While the cats were gone, their presence in the form of hair, dander and smell was still in the house.
Trying to get stuff done in there is a challenge because we can't be there everyday. And when we are there we can't spend more than like an hour before we are suffering mightily from cat allergies. Add to that the pollen levels in the air. No fun here.
We have arrangements in place to get an estate sale done and the house listed for sale. The sale can commence. The rest of the estate has to go through probate first. But most of the rest of this ordeal can be handled remotely.
We might only have to come back down here for one day for Roy to get appointed Executor by the Probate court. If the case gets assigned to Probate court 1 it can be done via a Zoom Call. Probate court 2 is in person. So we would have to fly down here again for a 15 minute hearing. Don't get me started.
Haven't been doing livestreams because of our chaotic schedule. I will start them again once we are back home.
We rented a car to get around which was the best worst option.
Need as much control over our timetable as possible.
We are only driving as much as we absolutely need to. We have used Grub Hub for dinner twice and got Dominos pizza once. Thankfully I have my Grub Hub subscription through Amazon Prime. That means free delivery to our hotel room. Again, the plan being to avoid as much hassle and stress as possible.
So, only 5 more sleeps till we are on the way home and can resume our normal lives.
This whole road warrior, digital nomad thing doesn't work for me.
