Now Total Ethereum 2.0 Staking Reaches 1.5 Million ETH

Not much has changed a few days after December 1, 2020, when it officially entered the main net stage, currently, the total staking on Ethereum 2.0 has become 1,507,522 ETH. The ETH reward earned by the staker is 12.7 percent on an annual basis (APR).

At the current exchange rate, that total ETH staking is equivalent to $ 893 million at the current exchange rate @ US $ 592 per ETH.

December 1, 2020, is an important historical date for Ethereum, which is crypto ether (ETH).

It was on that date that the first phase (phase 0) began for Ethereum using the Proof-of-Stake system. Someday in the next few years it will completely abandon the Proof-of-Work system.

Proof-of-Stake does promise thousands of transactions that can be managed in seconds, including to reduce transaction fees when transactions are high.
Proof-of-Stake does not rely on how much energy passes through the ETH mining equipment, but on how much ETH crypto assets are anchored into the network.

Miner also changes the term to become a validator who checks and verifies every transaction.

With total staking of 1,507,522 ETH, annually the validator gets a reward of 12.7 percent.
However, the reward cannot be withdrawn until phase 1.5 which is expected to end in 2022. This mechanism is very important in order to suppress the depreciation of ETH prices in the market.

With the arrival of the new version of Ethereum, it is certain that a staking service will emerge without the need to deposit 32 ETH into the contract deposit, nor the need to set up the complicated cloud computing service.
Investors who want to get rewarded only need to deposit how much ETH they have to stake service providers, just like deposits in banking services. Easy and practical.
